Here’s how I got him confident and loving life on the board, fuelled by a pre-adventure coffee baristabarni 🏄☕
🐾 Life Jacket Practice
Choose a dog specific life jacket with a handle (so you can easily lift them if needed). Normalise wearing around the house or garden until it feels normal
🐾 Get Them Comfortable on Dry Land
Blow up the board and let your dog explore it at home or at the water’s edge. Spend time encouraging them onto it, treats work wonders here!
🐾 Introduce Movement
Gently rock the board to mimic motion they might feel on the water. Practice moving paddle around their head
🐾 Shallow Water Sessions
Repeat the same steps in calm, shallow water
🐾 Build Up Slowly
Begin with short 5–10 minute paddles, rewarding as they grow in confidence. Gradually increase the duration as they relax into it
Before you set off, fuel up with a Barista Bar. Great days on the water start with great coffee in your hand, before you hit the beach

![Finished our last day in Switzerland with a hike to Saxer Lücke ⛰️🇨🇭
This has been on my “must do hikes” list for some time. We took the gondola up from Frümsen and hiked the ridge trail down to Fälensee Lake
This trail had a bit of everything, one of my top days in Switzerland and was a great way to end the trip 👌🏼
Be sure to bring your swimming gear for a refreshing dip, there’s also a lakeside restaurant, which we refuelled at before the hike back

Today’s hike to Oeschinen Lake was absolutely stunning. We took the gondola up and followed the 3.5 hour panoramic trail. Every corner we turned brought incredible jaw dropping mountain views 🤯
And that glacier lake… bright blue, like something out of a postcard
Made some new friends, had a surprise visit from some overly friendly Swiss cows on the trail 😂🐮

📌 Via Ferrata Mürren-Gimmelwald cliff walk
We rented gear from Intersport Mürren for 30CHF. The route operates from 9am to 2:30pm in summer, weather permitting. It's a secure, well maintained route that takes around 2-3 hours to complete, depending on your pace
You need a serious head for heights to attempt this

Murlough Bay, tucked beneath Fair Head, is a little slice of paradise on the County Antrim coast
Towering sea cliffs, rolling green hills, crystal clear water and views across to Rathlin Island and even Scotland on a clear day, it’s absolutely breathtaking
Tip; There’s free parking, but on sunny days the spaces fill up fast. If you end up at the upper car parks, be prepared for a bit of a hike down, but it’s worth it
Tried a Barista Bar iced coffee for the first time, so good! It’s definitely my new go-to for summer road trips in the car ☕️🗺️

![I’m doing a Half Ironman next week 🫣🇪🇸
It’s 70.3 miles in total:
🏊 1.2 mile swim
🚴 56 mile bike
🏃 13.1 mile run — all back to back
When I signed up, I honestly wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into. I just knew I wanted the challenge
Since then, it’s been months of early mornings, long weekends in the saddle and trying to juggle training with normal life. But I’ve learned so much about discipline, patience and just how far the body (and mind 😅) can be pushed
Some days felt great, others were a grind, but that’s part of it. There’ve been highs (London Half Marathon PB) and there’ve been plenty of lows, fatigue, self doubt and wondering if I’d bitten off more than I can chew
Just making it to the start line in Majorca next week already feels like a win

Yes, puffins near Dublin! This private island off the coast of North County Dublin has a small colony. Visits are limited and guided, so book ahead.

At the entrance to Clew Bay, this island has dramatic cliffs, old ruins, and nesting puffins in the summer. Ferry from Roonagh Pier and explore the mix of nature and history
