Her second back-to-school (well, daycare) season starts today 🤓🧸 I wanted to share these August photos we created with monlitcabane cabane and talk a bit about our 1.5-month experience of sleeping in a “big kid bed” vs. a crib. 🛌 When we realized it was time to switch: When my back simply couldn’t handle bending over the crib rails anymore. Picking her up and giving goodnight kisses to a growing toddler made my back hurt like never before, that was the main sign 🌝 Is it hard to keep her in bed now? Not at all! Our nighttime routine stayed the same, and she falls asleep just like before. A little recap of the past few days 📆 I went quiet here again for two reasons: first, our daycare is on summer break so I’ve been spending all my time with Sonia. And second, it’s been so hot (39°C today!) that I have zero energy left for anything else. Weekend at the Dune du Pilat (look who joined us on the slide 3🐶) Last weekend we drove 170 km north of Bayonne to one of the most picturesque places in France - Arcachon and the Dune du Pilat. We stayed at laguitoune, a lovely hotel just 10 minutes from the dune and 1 minute from the beach. I’m always touched when places really care about families: they not only had a crib ready for Sonia but also a baby bathtub, a water thermometer (!!) and kid-friendly bath gel. It might look like small details but they make you feel so welcome 🥹 Special mention goes to laguitoune restaurant: even if you’re just passing through the area, I highly recommend bookmarking it for lunch or dinner. Everything was delicious — from the wine and starters (oh that maigre tartare on the first photo!🤤) to the main course: the catch of the day. So good!!! July favorite moments 🌊🌞🌱 (biarritz edition) Somehow July, usually a slower summer month when most people go on holiday, turned out to be full of both travel (Paris, Italy + one coming up this weekend) and work (brand and private clients shoots, mentoring and collabs). Our daughter is turning 2 in just a few weeks, and we decided to surprise her with a little room makeover for her birthday. And we started with the centerpiece - the bed.
