ad. For me, creativity flows like waves 〰️ sometimes I have all the ideas, and sometimes there’s nothing-stillness. And just like swimming, it’s best not to push against the tide when faced with challenges. I step out into spaces, like nature, that make me feel good. That gives space for my thoughts to recalibrate 🔑🐦‍⬛

Because resistance comes in many forms…

Community building, guerrilla gardening, growing your own foods, sharing wisdom, story-telling, spoken word, poetry, dancing, creating art and being kind to your neighbours are some of the few ways you can help drive positive change.

Side note that peaceful resistance isn’t always an option for those violently oppressed

Here are the people in the reel who champion using creativity to drive positive change:

I had no idea villages like this existed…

This is Kampong Ayer, one of the oldest and largest floating villages in the world, part of the Bruneian capital of Bandar Seri Begawan 🇧🇳 This village is home to around 20-30,000 people!

I was in awe by how the locals lived. It’s was sooo peaceful, quiet, school kids being picked up and dropped off in boats, people waving every time you crossed paths on water, tons of wildlife around in the form of birds, monkeys and crocodiles 🐊 it was one of those rare moments where I thought “wow, humans are amazing”- the architecture was mind blowing!

In the heart of the concrete jungle…

Last week me and akisphere led a columbia_eu hike society walk in Tottenham marshes- a beautiful oasis of wildlife just 5 minutes walk from Tottenham Hale station.

Funnily, I’ve walked past this place almost everyday on my way to work and didn’t realise the magic behind the gates. From butterflies, to fruits, to herons flying over your head, this place is top of the game for urban wildlife.

Sharing these experiences with the community slaps even more. There’s something special about sharing the joys of the natural world with others 🤝🏾💓 so thank you to everyone who came along and we really hope you enjoyed the hike xxx

What a stressful ride…

Just two girlies trying to get from A to B but the birds won’t let us - we can’t help it! 🫣🤭

Ooooo the joys of birding… sometimes it’s wholesome and relaxing but other times it can be like this- STRESS lol, a total rollercoaster of emotions!

This place we were driving through was INSANEEEE. A complete contrast to birding in London,📍Wasan rice fields in Brunei was TEEMING with birdlife! The second we drove in we knew it was game on 💪🏽 A Lesser Adjutant stork (Google it!) posed for our cameras whilst a purple heron landed in front of it with a snake in its mouth! From Kingfishers to Cuckoos to Bee-eaters to herons- this spot really had it all! 🤎

Any other bird lovers relate?! Stopping or diverting routes because you’ve heard something unusual 🤔 what’s the craziest thing you’ve done to spot wildlife?…

My first ever cuckoo, peregrine, barn owl and many other cool species were discovered in and around the city so defo get your trainers on and explore 🦅 💓

When ringuk goes wild 🔔🦉…

There’s nothing more exciting than not knowing what could pop up on your ringuk Outdoor Battery Camera - filtering wildlife from the footage is like unwrapping a gift 🎁 it’s a total surprise 🦊 🦔🦅

This collaboration between ringuk and rspb isn’t just about capturing cute clips though…it’s about connecting more people to nature, inspiring curiosity, and highlighting the amazing diversity of wildlife that lives alongside us. Whether you’re in the countryside or heart of the city, birding can become part of your daily life 🐦‍⬛

These sightings help raise awareness about the importance of protecting our feathered friends and their habitats. The more we observe and appreciate wildlife, the more we understand the need to conserve it 🌍 2025-06-20 23:23:22 .. 997 -98% 19 -94%

Migration is an Earth right 🌍

For Refugee Week, I’m taking part in Simple Acts by Exploring Outdoors.
To deepen our understanding of the planet, nurture our communities, and take action for a regenerative future.

I want to remind people that migration isn’t just seen in humans, but in wildlife too. 🌿

We live in a society that has drawn lines and built imaginary boarders to control human migration. We are told that it’s wrong for some people to migrate and seek refuge while others can freely move around and even displace others without judgement.

Let’s not forget the 1000s of species that migrate every year around the world. Many animals have more than one home. Take the Cuckoo, a beloved bird that makes the famous “cuck-oo” sound that we’ve all heard on alarms, clocks or in the garden! This bird has two homes. The UK (for those that breed here) and Africa (where it stays in Winter).

Humans move too. Humans have always moved around, across continents and this is how we’ve evolved to be beautifully diverse.
Colonialism and capitalism has
also pushed people to move- either seeking refuge from war, displacement from human-made natural disasters or seeking stability/ new opportunities. People have the right to leave, just as a cuckoo has the right to fly to the UK every year to reap the benefits of the land.

With the recent events of dehumanisation, brutality and deportation of the Latin community in America, this message means so much to me at this time. It’s important people know that laws around migration are put to benefit a minority. To exploit the black and brown community and then leave them with nothing.

If there’s anything you take away from this collaboration it’s to be kind to your neighbours. Learn and engage with people from different backgrounds to you. And remember that people do not leave their homes by choice, survival is an instinct 🦋

The link between fashion and wildlife…

It’s World Environment Day and today I’m letting go of a real bad habit… buying brand new clothes! 👖👗

It’s hard to believe that something simple like buying new clothes could harm our environment and the wildlife we love. But unfortunately, fast fashion is a huge contributor to the degradation of our environment. Our planet cannot keep up with the millions of clothing we produce every year and it’s starting to take its toll❤️‍🩹

But by buying less, buying pre-loved and repairing old clothes, we can make a change 🌍

Check out reskinned.clothing who have a range of cute pre-loved pieces & use my code LIRA15 for 15% off your order 🌱

Truths about influencing👇🏾

-number of followers does NOT reflect your bank account, you can have lots of followers and still be broke!

-brands will exploit you. They will offer you the bare minimum and ask for the most! I’ve been paid more by small charities than globally known brands (this is my fault too for being a pwusssyy when it comes to charging)

- not everyone in front of the camera is confident. I come across very confident but I have to really push outside my comfort zone and work on my insecurities.

-you have to put in WORKKK for a career in influencing. I really used to judge content creators; assuming they would get paid for “just taking selfies”. I now know this is far from the truth… endless emails, spreadsheets, back-back meetings; weeks of endless work!

-you don’t have to be a social bunny. i can only “healthily socialise” in small amounts. Public speaking, events, meeting lots of new people can often leave me super deflated so I try to space them out. I enjoy it at the time and can come across super extrovert but at the end of the day I’m DONEEE 💀😴

-having bare followers doesn’t mean “you’ve made it”. You can be really unhappy, lost and lonely even with a big account.

- somehow it’s become ok for people to ask personal questions I.e how much exactly you’re making. And I’m v OPENNN but sometimes, depending circumstances, it’s actually none of their damn business.

If you want more truths lmk!!! I’m ready to air it all out lol 2025-05-31 23:02:14 .. 5,779 -90% 306 +0%
Greening the concrete jungle 🍃🏙

There’s something eery and sad about seeing a street with no trees- unfortunately a common sight around London. Trees make such a difference to our busy streets! The air feels lighter, colours brighter and of course more likely to some wildlife friends 🐦‍⬛ 🪲 🍄‍🟫

If you’re a nature-loving city dweller like me, make sure to check out treesforcities and treesforstreets for greener streets (not greens streeter 😅🤣) 💓 2025-05-30 00:13:22 .. 4,700 -92% 125 -59%
Don’t wanna dine any other way 💅🏽

This in my opinion is the finest of dining. Such vibes when you eat within the community. the tastiest food, cheap prices, vibes and always free entertainment in the forms of drama and interesting characters lol. And I alwayssss make a friend! It’s a place to make genuine connections and giving back to the community 🌱

Would you choose this over a the typical “fine dining” experience? 🍷

Lateness increased by 100% in spring

Did you see the Green woodpeckers tongue?! That’s because they feed on ants and other small insects in the ground! 🐜 👅

Unlike other woodpeckers, Green woodpeckers make that creepy cackle sound 🧙🏽‍♀️ they rarely drum on wood 🪵! They’re actually easier to find on the ground searching for ants! Xx 2025-04-12 19:23:42 .. 2,494 -96% 28 -91%
The mosquito bites were worth it 🍊

Also yall are so lucky i didn’t grow up on this farm because the way this was a mad workout….it would be over in the streets 💪🏽 💅🏽🤪I burnt more calories harvesting these oranges than the juice itself loool. My legs and glutes were on FIRE by the time I made it back to the farm 😭

Jokes aside, this is a glamorous take on the process lol it’s hard doing this in the heat and with 100s of mosquitoes taking chunks out of you. A lot of it was me hitting my face and being out of breath lol. But I can’t help to think that my family don’t realise how lucky they are to be able to pick their own foods, see where it comes from and eat it knowing it’s pure goodness ⚡️

Check out and save my itinerary ⬇️ 🐢

Aruba.. what a dream! This busy little island can also be the perfect place for those, like me, that are after peace and wildlife on their travels. Sadly this island is quickly becoming more and more “resorty” and if you don’t plan/research, you can end up stuck between resorts, on packed out noisy beaches , eating at EXPENSIVE high end low quality restaurants, spending lotsssss of money and not actually experiencing real Aruban culture/nature.

1. My FAVOURITE beach, as seen at the beginning of the reel with lots of mangroves and wildlife: Savaneta beach 🌴

2. Malmok beach for your own little tree with THE BEST snorkelling spot- saw the maddest marine life here 🐠 also Brown Pelicans are crazy close here, diving within arms length to where your swimming… crazy crazy 🔥

3. Zeerover for local food… ayyyyy. This place has local fishermen who catch every morning and the prices are not bad -I payed ~40£ for their daily catch plus plantain, chips, cornbread, salad, sauce and drinks FOR TWO PEOPLE!

4. Don’t be afraid to be in accommodation that’s more inland and outside the capital/away from beaches- unless you’re not planning on getting a car. The island is tiny and you are never more than 20mins drive from a good beach.

5. There’s a little strip of huts opposite the Aruba Cruise Terminal on a road called Belgiestraat where you will find the delicious traditional pastries, snacks, juice bars and food. We went back every day to grab Pastechi: traditional savoury pastry. There’s also cute markets with souvenirs and clothes 👗

6. Highlight birds seen were Crested Caracara, Magnificent frigatebird, Southern lapwing and Brown Pelicans xx

8. I recommend hiring a car. It’s cheap if you go local (mine cost around 45£ per day. You can explore many beaches, avoid the sun between travels and seek less touristic spots which are the most beautiful places.

9. Shoco trail and Arikok national park for gentle walks and spotting wildlife🌵 🦅

10. Keep eyes peeled for the Green Iguanas that can be found usually basking on rooftops and walls 🦎 google them- they’re cool!

Ohhh I would love to 🥭🌴

I never understood this statement. as if being where “I come from” is a punishment? Literally fruits falling at the feet, beautiful weather, friendly people, good food and nature. The land is rich but the people are poor and life is hard because of western exploitation , corruption and stealing of OUR natural resources- which is why some of my family have never been able to return. Pls do simple maths before racially attacking those that, because of YOUR governments, have ended up in western countries- NOT by choice.
