🏖️ BEACH CULTURE IN RIO So many of the places we have travelled have an expensive beach culture that pushes out locals & I don’t like that. The beaches are privately owned or only accessible if you pay for beach club access or stay at a hotel on the water & that’s just not right. One thing we LOVE about the beach culture here in Rio de Janeiro is that the beach is for everyone! Vendors are there with delicious treats, people are selling swimsuits & speakers, kids are playing freely & safely.. it’s a real community experience. Looking back through old photos, it’s wild to think we came to Rio in 2023 on a whim—Whitley had just taken her first steps. Now, in 2025, she’s running off to school, making friends at the beach, and living her best little life. 🌊 First surf lesson in Rio and I’m hooked! Huge shoutout to surf_gloria for making it so easy to get started.
