9 years ago, Chance was just a little pup with an unknown story…. No records. No real birthday. Just a vet’s guess: August 2016. Tucked away on Queens’ northeastern edge, Fort Totten Park is a hidden gem nearly 100 acres wide — where history, nature, and off-the-beaten-path adventure meet. Once inhabited by the Matinecock Native Americans, later owned by the Willets family, and used as a federal military base from the Civil War to the 1980s — this rare site still serves the U.S. Army and Coast Guard today. What You’ll See:
