Sophie discovered Pilates after experiencing the positive mental impact that movement had on her wellbeing. Through Pilates, she found more energy, greater self-esteem, and an overall sense of mental and physical strength.

What Sophie loves most about teaching at Nobu Pilates is the belief that Pilates is for everyone, no matter who you are or what you look like. For her, the focus is always on movement and building that mind-body connection, something she also carries into her daily life.

Tia has always been sporty and passionate about fitness, but it was a friend who first convinced her to give Pilates a try. She was instantly hooked and after discovering Nobu, she made the leap from client to instructor.

Outside the studio, Tia loves walking around London as much as possible, sneaking in extra movement during her day. Her goal after every class is simple: she wants clients to leave feeling energised, empowered, and ready to take on anything.

Tia is quick to bust one common Pilates myth: that you need to be super flexible to get started. In reality, Pilates meets you exactly where you are, with options for all levels and abilities.

Her ideal Nobu day? Starting with a morning PURE class, followed by a poke bowl and matcha latte in the lounge, then a little retail therapy along Marylebone High Street.

Welcome back to our Instructor Series. Matteo has been a valued member of the Nobu Pilates team for three and a half years and brings over 12 years of teaching experience to the studio.

He finds it deeply rewarding to work alongside clients as they heal from injuries and regain strength through movement.

Matteo’s go-to Pilates soundtrack is an energetic blend of house, 80s, and 90s music. He loves seeing the positive energy that fills the room at the end of each class.

A firm believer in daily wellness habits, Matteo swears by morning yoga and meditation to set the tone for the day. In this week’s Nobu Pilates Signature Moves series we’ll be once again giving breakdowns of classical Pilates exercises designed to help you perfect your technique, build strength, and deepen your practice.

Today, Marcela is demonstrating pulling straps on the reformer. This is an intermediate exercise for great extension and back of the body connection. This move also strengthens the upper and middle back muscles which are essential for mainting upright posture. This move can also be adapted to a T pull to challenge shoulder to back connection and promote core activation without spinal flexion.

Meet Jacob, one of our Nobu Pilates ambassadors. An actor and content creator, Jacob values the structure Pilates brings to his routine and the positive impact it has on both his body and his audience. He’s a big fan of Poppy’s Precision classes for their focus and control, and turns to Power classes when he’s after something a bit more fun and high energy.
