- 🚁This is the view of the skyline every year on that day as seen from an open door helicopter. 🚁Going on a helicopter ride is not cheap, and doing multiple flights a year can really add up. 🚁If you’re doing this only one time ever, all the more reason to go up during a special occasion that’s worth your while. 🚁Dates such as September 11 and July 4 are big events that are incredible experiences to see from above. 🚁Tribute in light is a public art installation to commemorate and honor those that were taken from us and celebrate the unbreakable spirit of New York 🚁Assembled on the roof of the Battery Parking Garage south of the 9/11 Memorial, the twin beams reach up to four miles into the sky and are comprised of 88 7,000-watt xenon lightbulbs positioned into two 48-foot squares, echoing the shape and orientation of the Twin Towers. The installation can also be viewed from a 60-mile radius around lower Manhattan (911 Memorial & Museum). 🚁Flying on this day is always special to capture because all the buildings in the skyline light up sky blue to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks in remembrance of the color of the sky before the attacks. #tributeinlight #wtcmemorial

- A sea of gypsum sand as far as the eye can see… Fun fact: White Sands National Park has officially become my most visited park. I’ve chased both sunrise and sunset across these dunes, but I still want to capture lightning storms and astro under this sky. What makes this place unique is that it’s home to the largest gypsum dune field on Earth. Unlike typical quartz sand, these dunes are made of gypsum crystals, a mineral so rare in sand form that White Sands is a one-of-a-kind landscape. Golden and blue hour bring out surreal hues across the dunes, but even mid-day can reward you with stark, minimalist compositions if you lean into the contrast. 📌 Save & share this to refer back to if you visit New Mexico! #whitesandsnationalpark #travelphotographers #visitnewmexico
