- It’s easy to throw out quotes from Warren Buffett like “Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful”, but difficult to actually put into practice. Do you read the headlines and feel the same fear, uncertainty and doubt that others are feeling? When I look back over the 8+ years I’ve been investing in the stock market, truly some of the best opportunities were when it ‘felt’ the scariest. When stocks were ‘plunging’. Like during Covid in March/April 2020 - I actually recall logging into my brokerage and properly worrying. “What if this actually goes to 0? Should I sell now and buy back in?” In hindsight it was an unbelievable opportunity to deploy any available cash. My 2 cents - it’s never as bad as it seems or as the media paint it to be. The crashing of the stock market always gets the most clicks, yet they don’t make headlines about the steady growth back to new all time highs which will inevitably come.
