- 5 “Controversial” Things I Do to Look & Feel My Best at 44 💥 As a Certified Holistic Weight Loss + Wellness Coach: 1. Lift weights > endless cardio. My booty + tone came back once I ditched nonstop sweat sessions. After years of owning a Barre Studio and teaching lower weight classes, I just wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. Once I introduced lifting weights and slowed down on the dripping-with-sweat workouts, everything changed. 2. Hair extensions. I waffled on these bc well, they’re “fake.” But my hair routine is more low maintenance w/ them, and frankly I feel more confident. So where’s the crime? I’ll likely be taking them to my grave. 3. I detox my home (wool dryer balls, nontoxic products, organic food, less alcohol), but I still get Botox and lasers. Wellness doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing—we’re all doing our best. The online judgment is bananas…more grace, less criticism. Stay curious, spread kindness. 4. I intermittent fast (love the benefits—better digestion, blood sugar balance, fat-burning), but I skip cycle syncing. With two kids, a business, and a household to run, I just don’t have the time. But if it’s life-changing, convince me otherwise😉 5. I enjoy wine. Yes, alcohol is linked to several cancers, so many in the health space avoid it. I set boundaries like everything else. I’ll savor a glass, choose mocktails mostly socially, stay mindful, and choose what feels right for me. Awareness > extremes. ✨ These work for me—wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all.
