My back hurts…
I totally get it, as someone who’s had a pretty major back injury and deals with good days and bad days.
Here is what I know:
1)Moving is better than not moving
2)Warming up is important
3)Sometimes intervention is needed, but it won’t get better without doing the work

What I thought when I looked in the mirror versus when I saw this picture…

I put on a dress, which for me is kind of a big deal 🤪..

I felt awesome, I felt cute, sexy, and confident.
I was shocked, I thought about how I’ve owned that dress for over 5 years and it’s just been sitting in my closet. It wasn’t that I didn’t have anywhere to wear it. It was more about not feeling that I could.
I’m not much a dress girl, yes because I don’t really have a reason to wear them. But mostly because I don’t typically feel comfortable or confident. I wear leggings everyday, it’s not what I’m used to. I also find it hard to find dresses they fit my body the way I want them too. Without needing all the special stuff, a very specific bra, the right kind of shape-wear, if you know you know. 
So anyway, I put this dress on and felt awesome. Until…
I saw the pictures I asked my sister to take 😬 I didn’t like what I saw.
There’s no need for me to get into the thoughts that were in my head. It was a dark and mean place for a moment.
I reminded myself that only moments before I felt great. I reminded myself that lighting and angles matter. I reminded myself that my body is awesome and capable of so much and that I shouldn’t let one moment looking at a picture change my mood or ruin the confidence I was just feeling.
Later that day, I went online and bought a few more dresses ❤️

It’s so easy to get stuck in the past. I used to lift this much, do this much, be able to…

But living in the past doesn’t help us move forward. 

I used to compete in powerlifting, CrossFit, and many other things. Then a whole pandemic happened, a major back injury, and a decision that only lifting heavy didn’t make sense for me and my body.

So even though I used to… I now, do what makes sense for me and my body and make progress from the now. Not the past.

One step & hop at a time.
I get a lot of questions and comments about how I can jump or how I started. Comments how peoples knees and ankles can’t handle jumping. Bodies are ment to move. Bodies are capable of incredible things, and for some the movements come more naturally than others. For some of us, it’s takes a lottt of time and repetition.

I started with little hops, lots of hip extension, plenty of single leg stability, and I keep showing up.
