If this post makes you roll your eyes because these ideas are too general, or too obvious, I see you. I dislike making reels because they aren't designed to help you actually learn or change your actions or your mindset...

What you need is insight into an actual framework for making smart financial decisions that set you up for life. That's exactly what I take my clients through. Mini photo dump from my summer trip to Sweden! 🇸🇪

Two weeks; 3 days of work and the rest was vacation! This is the longest time I've taken off, and it was lovely.

We spent most of the time in Stockholm and Gotland (large Swedish island in the Baltic Sea🏝️).

 Money notes:

💰 My flight was the most expensive part. We combined this with my partner's work trip, so his flight + our first 3 nights of hotel were covered.

💰 Off-season is always the least expensive time to travel, but going in the summer was worth it for the activities we wanted to do this trip.

💰 Credit card points came in clutch! Hotels (and most things) are expensive in Stockholm, so it was great to use our points to cover hotel stays. I intentionally applied for a new card and hit the bonus earlier this year so that we could use those points to cover part of our trip.

💰 The rest of the trip expenses came out of my Travel savings bucket (a sub savings account in my high yield savings account), which I add to every month because travel is important to me.

Highlights included seeing family that came on parts of the trip with us, biking up the Gotland coast, exploring neighborhoods in Stockholm, and eating all the food of course.

I already want to go back in the off season and do a winter activities trip! 🛷🚡🏂❄️

First things first:

🔹 You're doing great and should feel proud of how far you've come.

🔹 This is normal - most of us aren't taught about finances and investing growing up

Also true 👉 NOW is the best time to get a system in place so that you can turn that six figure income into seven figure net worth.

To achieve this, you're going to:

💰 Reflect on your life vision - what does your dream life look like? (stop playing small!)

💰 Clarify your short, mid and long-term financial goals

💰 Understand exactly where you stand financially (average expenses, income, net worth, retirement savings)

💰 Assess your current personal finance setup and determine what changes will enable you to hit your goals.

💰 Take action - you need a system that will put most of this stuff on autopilot. A basic budget sheet might have worked when you were fresh out of college, but it's time to update your strategy and your setup.

It can take a lot of time to try and to figure it out on your own. Send me a message or put some time on my calendar (link in bio) and let's see if working with a Financial Coach will get you there faster.

99% of the most incredible things that have happened in my life I wrote them down first.

I've been journaling since I could write.
I filled journals in elementary school, middle school, and picked it back up in college as a stressed 19-year-old.

I used my journals for many, many things. But the most important thing I did was use it to learn about myself - my dreams, goals, desires. Only then could I seriously develop a picture in my mind of what I wanted to do, see, feel, and who I wanted to be.

I dreamed about it, journaled on it, and took intentional action aligned with that vision to make it happen.

I hope you write it down. And then, I hope you go do it 💖

The calculation might be easy, but how do you actually implement this? And how do you prioritize across your other financial goals (investing for retirement, travel/vacation, maybe buying a home or saving for a big event)?

👉 If you've solved the income equation, it comes down to having the right financial systems and organization in place.

It can take months or years to finally figure out what's right for you.

If you want to skip to the part where you're making progress on your goals every day and getting closer to the life you want to live (both today and in the future!), then let's work together.

25 ideas for financial goals in 2025 (in no particular order):

🔹 Increase your 401(k) contributions by 1% every month (or quarter).

🔹Max out an IRA (Individual Retirement Account).

🔹Create an emergency fund with at least 3-6 months' worth of living expenses.

🔹Develop a debt payoff plan to systematically reduce all non-mortgage debt.

🔹Set a monthly budget and build a system that makes it easy to stick to it.

🔹Automate your savings and investments.

🔹Review and optimize your insurance policies for better rates.

🔹Assess your discretionary spending (are these expenses bringing you joy?).

🔹 Implement a software/app that makes it easy to track your budget and financial goals.

🔹Open a high-yield savings account to earn more interest on your emergency fund.

🔹Review and understand what your investment portfolio is invested in.

🔹Monitor your credit report regularly and work on improving your credit score.

🔹Automate tracking your expenses to make better financial decisions.

🔹Explore socially responsible or climate-friendly investing options that align with your values.

Oh how I missed you, Germany, and your cold, rainy July days 😂.

Managed to pack an outfit for a wedding, my dirndl (also needed for the wedding), both work laptops, and everything else in my classic carry on suitcase and personal item (work backpack this time).

My biggest personal finance travel tip is to avoid flying to Europe in the middle of summer during the Euro Cup because it will be expensive 😅✈️.

I set a goal of hiking 50+ miles over 5 days.

🥾 This may not seem crazy, considering how some folks hike the entire 2,190+ miles of the Appalachian Trail.

⛺ But I had only been camping a handful of times, let alone section hiking.

⛰️ On Day 4, after hiking the highest peak in Georgia, my friend and I almost had to turn around.

We pitched our tent in a downpour while thunder and lightning filled the sky.

While huddled in the tent, we assessed our gear.

I realized how critical a few of the items I had carried on my back were, including:

💧 a rain poncho,

💤 dry bags for my sleeping kit,

🧦 extra socks, and a change of clothes.

These essentials let us move forward despite the 2-hour storm.

⚡ It was a reminder that rainy days are inevitable, both on the trail and in life (as cheesy as that sounds!)

And while we can’t always predict them, we can prepare for them.

💰 An emergency fund and creating financial contingency plans for your “worst case scenarios” help safeguard your financial health against the unexpected.

Similar to how we were able to continue towards our end goal, being prepared means you can weather the storm without derailing your financial goals. 💲

And when life happens, the less you need to stress about the financial aspect of a difficult situation, the more resilient you will be.

🌲📷 Photos from the hike! We hiked a Georgia section on the Appalachian Trail (Springer Mountain to Unicoi Gap). If you section hike, I’d love to hear your trail stories 😁. And if you've never done anything like this, would you consider it?

Just saved someone $490.44 in 30 minutes.

They’re not even my client—it was a discovery call.

But I’m not here to gatekeep!

So when they mentioned they’ve been stuck in a paycheck to paycheck cycle and have $8,000 in credit card debt, we went a bit deeper.

✔️Turns out they have a solid (670+) credit score.
✔️And a $20k bonus expected in September.

Unfortunately, they’re also underwater on a car loan (~$9,500) with a wacky interest rate.

Their plan was to pay off this debt in full using the bonus, while paying the monthly minimum over the next 5 months.

Certainly not a bad plan.

But not their only option.

For example, they had never heard of a 0% balance transfer.

(a 0% balance transfer lets you move your existing debt to a new card and pay no interest on it for a set period, usually 12-18 months — we do not learn this stuff in school)

Instead of allocating 90% of the bonus to debt right away, this empowers them to:
✅ set aside $8k in savings as a backup Emergency Fund,
✅ still eliminate 100% of the car debt,
✅ pay the credit card off in full by the time the 0% interest rate expires in 12-18 months,

And, here’s the kicker — they’d save $490.44 in interest that would accrue from the credit card debt over the next 5 months. 🤯💸

PLUS, while working with me on their finances, they’d have the setup and strategies to:
💥 break out of the paycheck to paycheck cycle,
💥 build an Emergency Fund (to help avoid going into credit card debt ever again)
💥 start investing for retirement
💥 build a solid foundation should they choose to start a family

Pretty wild discovery for a 30-minute Zoom call!

If you want to chat, my calendar is open.

Could you afford to take a 3-month sabbatical from work?
What about a 6-week trip to Italy?
Or go down to 3-4 days per week at work?

Whatever it is comes down to a basic math problem. ➖➕

You can run your numbers to assess:
🔹 What tweaks you'd need to make to your monthly cash flow (income, expenses, savings, investments)
🔹 How this change would impact your lifestyle
🔹 How much to save beforehand to cover any gaps

There's a lot of emotion around big decisions.

Running scenarios is one of my favorite things to do with my clients because it helps them objectively explore a potential life change from a pure numbers perspective.

Is this a possibility for me now, and if not, when?
Or what IS possible given my current situation?

📷 Photo from my 5-month #sabbatical from work in 2021 where I spent the first 2 months in St. Pete Beach. It was scary at first, but led me to my dream job.

What is scarier than making a bad decision?

Doing nothing.

The opportunity cost of doing nothing is steep—especially when it comes to your finances.

It’s your net worth stubbornly staying in the same place quarter after quarter.
Watching the opportunity to buy your dream home pass by.
Financial stress that rarely eases, even though your income is higher than ever.

☝️ The cost of inaction is invisible, yet insidious.

Overcoming inaction is the first step to create the wealth (and life!) you desire.

How to get started:

1 - ✅ Define your financial goals: How do these goals tie back to the life you want to live?

2 - ✅ Tell someone what you’re working on: A financial coach, a close friend, your partner—when we share our goals, we’re more likely to achieve them. Bonus points if you can find an accountability buddy.

We can only do the best we can with the skills, education, and support we have.

If you’re ready to take action on your finances and want to skip over the common pitfalls that trap so many by using a proven framework to figure out your finances for good, send me a message. You can also put some time on our calendars for a no-pressure chat at the link in my bio!

I realized something really cool the other day—
I won’t be the first woman in my family to retire early.

My grandmother retired at age 55.
She sold her business of 29 years.
And traveled around the US and the world with my grandfather.

My grandmother (Nan to her grandkids) is a huge inspiration for me.

I recently asked her about retiring early, and she told me that she has no regrets.

In her own words, “A lot involves your health, you never know what tomorrow will bring. Do everything on your bucket list while you are able, don’t wait. Now at 83 and 87 we have many memories and many doctors.”

It’s no secret where I got my love for travel and entrepreneurial spirit from. 😉

PS: I got storyworth as a gift for my Nan, and it has been incredible to read her stories every week. Let me know what you think about this gem from Nan. She has many more finance-related gems from her life that I can share (with her permission of course)!

📷 Photo of Nan with my great great grandmother in 1945.

Here's the thing -

90% of my clients earn six figures.

They're intelligent women and men with successful careers and businesses.

But just like 99% of the people I meet, they weren't taught about money growing up or in school.

They don’t have the personal finance setup, systems, and skills to turn their 6-figure income into a 7-figure net worth. 💰

And after a few high income years, they feel behind and don’t know why.

That’s where I come in to show them how to master their income, enabling them to finally use money as a tool to create their dream life.

If this resonates with you, let’s talk (no, you don’t have to be earning 6-figures yet - in fact, it’s better to set up the right plan beforehand!).
