In a saucepan, take 1 glass water and add the ginger and black pepper till it gets reduced to half. To this add the Sitopaladi powder and honey. 

This will give relief from dry and wet cough and running nose. This can be given 2-3 times a weeks on a regular basis and specially during season change to increase immunity. It’s proven to improve bone density as well. 

Note- For chronic cold & cough it’s advisable to visit a doctor.

Backstory ➡️ Few days back, we went for a holiday where he saw a plus-sized lady and said “Mumma ye kitni moti hai” Mind you! Kids learn a lot from school and what we unconsciously speak infront of them. 

I casually tried to explain to him that “We shouldn’t comment on anyone’s outer appearance. It might hurt feelings etc”

Today we were hugging to sleep and he was caressing my tummy and I randomly asked “Kriansh Mumma is fat no” Adults have high-level insecurities about their outer appearance which they pass on to kids as well. 

To my sweet surprise, he said “Mumma you’re beautiful. No one is thin, fat, fair or dark. You shouldn’t tell this - it’s bad manners” ❤️

A classic example that kids listen to everything we say. So 1) consciously maintain an environment that you want them to imbibe 

2)They learn a lot from home and it stays with them forever. We can’t control their outer circle. But we can polish them at home. Start Young Teach them right. Trust me they’re listening 🙂

I Bet you haven’t tried this before - Mexican Dalia 🍲

You have to try this Recipe once- like you have to ! This Recipe was such a hit- gosh why didn’t I think of it before. Never thought Dalia could taste so delicious honestly 🍲

Ingredients (serves 3-4)
1.5 cup Ganesh Dalia
2 tbsp Olive Oil
4-5 garlic pods crushed
Diced veggies- Onion, Capsicum, Bell pepper, Carrot, Beans, Corn, Olives (your choice)
1/2 cup boiled rajma 
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp Pizza Pasta Sauce
1/2 tbsp Soya Sauce (optional) 
1 tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste 

Process- 
In a pan, add olive oil. Add crushed garlic and let it cook for 1 minute. Now add of the diced veggies 🫑🥕🧅 - you can add all your kids favourite vegetables. Now add salt and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Once the veggies are cooked, add 1.5 cup Dalia and 2 cups water. Add the boiled Rajma, sauces, spices and salt. Cover the lid and let it cook for 10 minutes. That’s all! Ganesh Dalia cooks super quick. And your Mexican Dalia is ready 🍲🤤

So Ganesh Dalia is super versatile, full of fibre and nutrients and easy to digest. It’s not really a sick food. It’s not just for kids, it’s for everyone even those who are on a weight loss journey.

Why didn’t I try this before? 🧐 I always thought - blaaah who will make bread at home it’s so time taking. I was wrong. It’s a 10 min Prep time job. Rest the oven has to do 🍞🥪

Home Made Sooji Bread (No Maida) 

Ingredients:
Sooji- 1 cup
Curd - 1/2 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Powdered sugar - 1 tbsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Mixed seeds - 1 tbsp (for topping)
Milk (brushing) - 1 tbsp

Method:
Mix Sooji and Curd and let it rest for 15mins. 
Now in a blending jar add it with Milk and Olive Oil. Blend to make a smooth batter. Now add, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and lemon juice and mix till you see the batter is very airy and fluffy. 

Transfer it to a bread mould, sprinkle some seeds and bake it for 45 mins at 180• 

Brush with some milk and cover with kitchen towel and keep for 15 mins. Your softest Bread is now ready to enjoy as you like in sandwiches, or with cheese or just toasted.

Healthy Chocos at Home 🏡 

It was a lazy Saturday morning, I couldn’t shoot the Recipe but got sooo many requests on DM. So I penned it down for you guys ❤️

✅ Ingredients
1 cup oats flour (or finely ground rolled oats)
1/4 cup Ragi flour 
2 tbsp almond flour (optional; or use extra oats flour)
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 
1–2 tbsp jaggery powder/ date syrup or you can simply add any healthy chocolate spread you may have (adjust sweetness as per taste) 
1 tbsp coconut oil or ghee
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp Peanut butter (healthy fats- optional)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for aroma- optional)
Pinch of cinnamon (for flavour-optional)
Milk – only if needed for consistency

👩‍🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl:
Oats flour, ragi, cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, cinnamon.
Now add jaggery (or date syrup), coconut oil/ghee, peanut butter and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Combine wet and dry mixtures. Mix into a soft dough (almost like a cookie dough) If too dry, add a tiny splash of milk. If too wet, add a bit more oats flour.
Shape into small coin-sized pieces or use a cookie cutter for fun shapes.
Bake for 15–18 minutes or until firm to the touch. Let cool completely – they will firm up more as they cool.
🧊 Storage
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month.

🌟 Nutrition Tips
Oats , Ragi,  almond flour, peanut butter give calcium, fiber, iron, and healthy fats.
Jaggery or date syrup is toddler-friendly and slightly safer than refined sugar.

It’s a super easy recipe, just mix all the ingredients into a dough and done !

Very happy that he can lie. It’s very normal to start lying around the age of 4-5 years. Infact it’s a milestone that reflects their cognitive development is on track, that they have developed the intelligence of how to come out of unfavourable situations (like most adults 🤐) 

But What Can We Do as a Parent to encourage Honesty ? Reflect on how we react when they make some mistake and come to us. We generally, start scolding without even listening to their version. This develops a sense of fear that My Parents are going to scold me and to come out of that situation they lie or stop sharing incidents and slowly communication stops. 

If we rewire their logical brain and assure them that they can come to their Parents with every problem without the fear of scolding or judgment, we can save them from big troubles. The World is very fragile and the emotional health of most kids is very low.

So every time your child honestly calls out their mistake, reward them. 

I tell my son every single day that he can come to me with any problem and I will sort it for him , Shiv Baba will sort it for him (that’s our idol of prayer)

Today, experienced two things. One - saw a teenager walking and his staff carrying his bag (almost the same age) Actually this is very common in Kolkata, not sure about other cities. The moment kids come out of school, they fling their bags at their staffs (generally much older in age). I am not talking about babies/ toddlers here. 

I personally feel, too much of comfort (actually unnecessary comfort is the word) makes them so dependent on everyone that they can’t carry out one chore themself in future. Because they don’t have the habit only. Everything comes to them in a decorated platter that also someone else is waiting to feed them. This is raising weak, low resilient kids. I am not saying that don’t give comfort, but this extra 🤐 Rethink! You might be harming your kids this way. 

Two - There was water logging today. Some cars slowed down and made sure not to splash water on the pedestrians. Some just didn’t bother and kept driving in full speed. Maybe they never walked on the road. 

I feel if our kids don’t see both sides of the world, one- they will never value what they have and two- they will never be humble and kind towards the other side. That’s why we make sure we leave our cars at home on few days and use public transport or just walk. Just an example. 

And what is this fascination with talking in English. Unknowingly, even I do that. But it’s so wrong. In a room full of people who don’t understand English, I will still say Beta English mein bolo. It’s no longer a means of communication, it’s a status symbol. 

So we’ve made a rule, if someone talks in Hindi or whatever language u speak, reply back in that. Simple. And trust me in future, kids who are culturally rooted will be way cooler! 

Shutting up on Emotions- that’s what we have been doing for so many years. Parents hardly hug us or kiss us freely. And to boys, we’ve always said Boys Don’t Cry, are you a Girl etc etc. Let’s break this cycle and encourage all kids to speak up, communicate freely in any situation. So Everyday atleast once- Ask your Kids-How they feel & don’t take Fine as an ans.

I am not a Perfect Parent, just evolving ❤️

Soooooo Tasty Wait for the Reaction 🌸 

Quick n Easy Tiffin Series 
Ep 9- “Aaj Tiffin Mein Kya Hai Mumma” 
We named it Dahi Garlic Bread ✨

Ingredients-
1 tbsp Desi ghee
4-5 Garlic pods crushed
1 Big Onion julienned 
Green chilli diced (optional) 
Hung curd 1 cup (or Greek Yogurt)
Salt to taste
1/2 tbsp black pepper powder
Oregano/Chill flakes (optional) 
2 Cube Cheese for that creamy texture 

Process- 
In ghee, sauté garlic for 1 minute then add green chillies and onion. Add salt and cook it till it is caramelised. Now in Hung Curd, add the sauté onion, salt, black pepper powder, oregano, chilli flakes. And done! Apply it on toasted bread ( I give my 4.5 year old, bread like once in 4-5 months and it’s from a nearby bakery with better ingredients or I make at home). Cover it up with another slice and cut in slices for toddlers to pick up and eat easily (finger food)

With Just 2 Basic Ingredients High Protein Pizza using Quinoa & Green Lentils 🍕

This Pizza 6” will give you approx 20gms Protein. It’s great for people on weight loss journey too. Ok thank me later ❤️

Ingredients (makes 4)
1 cup Green Lentil
1/2 cup Quinoa
Salt to taste 
Pizza Pasta Sauce 4 tbsp 
Tomato Ketchup (optional) 
Diced Capsicum, Bellpepper, Onion, Corn, Olives (toppings of your choice)
Grated or cube Paneer (optional for more Protein)
Cheese cubes-2 (mandatory for the Pizza feel) 

Wash thoroughly and soak Quinoa and Green Lentils for 2 hours. Grind with green chilli an ginger to make a Chilla like batter (actually chilla hi hai with all the videsi toppings) 

Grease pan with ghee and pour a spoonful batter. Spread it evenly (little thick). Let this cook both sides till golden brown and crisp on the outside. Once done, apply Pizza Pasta Sauce and Tomato Ketchup ( I use both from troovyfoods ) 
Top it with veggies of your choice 🫑🧅🫒 and lots of grated cheese (preferably unsalted and low fat) 🧀
Cover the lid for 2 mins and open it to gooey goodness. Enjoy with some oregano chilli flakes (optional)

Tried & Tested Home Remedies for Diarrhoea , Loose Motion and Rehydration 💧

1) Fermented rice water is a traditional remedy that has been used for centuries in many cultures to help manage diarrhoea and aid in rehydration, especially in children. It is rich in electrolytes, simple carbohydrates, and beneficial bacteria when fermented properly.

It is the starchy water left over after rice is cooked or soaked, then left to ferment for a period of time (usually 12–24 hours). During fermentation, lactic acid bacteria multiply, which can support gut health. Add Rocksalt & consume. 

2) Cardamom water with honey is a traditional herbal remedy sometimes used to ease symptoms of diarrhoea, especially when it’s mild and non-infectious. It may help calm the digestive tract, reduce cramping, and lightly rehydrate the body.

🌿 Why Cardamom Water?
Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) is a spice with carminative, anti-inflammatory, and mild antispasmodic properties. It has traditionally been used in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine to:

Relieve indigestion
Reduce gas and bloating
Calm intestinal spasms
Support digestion

🍯 Why Add Honey?
Raw honey has antimicrobial and soothing properties. In the context of diarrhoea:

It can calm irritated intestines
Offers a small amount of natural sugar to support rehydration
May have a mild antibacterial effect (especially useful if diarrhoea is related to a mild gut infection)
⚠️ Note: Honey should not be given to children under 1 year old due to the risk of infant botulism.

🧪 How to Make Cardamom Water with Honey
Ingredients:

3–4 green cardamom pods (or ½ tsp ground cardamom)
2 cups water
1–2 tsp raw honey (optional)
Instructions:

Slightly crush the cardamom pods.
Boil the water, then add cardamom.
Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
Let it cool slightly, then strain.
Stir in honey once it’s warm (not hot), to preserve its beneficial enzymes.
Sip warm, 2–3 times a day.

Phase 1: Nothing by Mouth for 30–60 Minutes After Last Vomit

Let the stomach rest after each episode.
No food or drink during this time, even water.

Phase 2: Oral Rehydration

Start with tiny sips - not full glasses.

✅ Give:

ORS (Check my video on Fake ORS)
Tender coconut water
Jeera (cumin) water - boiled and cooled, very diluted
Barley Water 
Homemade rice water (kanji ka paani)
Fresh Pomegranate or Apple Juice 

🚫 Avoid:

* Canned Fruit juice, soda, milk, or anything sweet or oily
* Spicy, fried or fermented foods

✅ After Vomiting Stops (at least 4–6 hours without vomiting)

Start with very soft, easy to digest foods 

1. Moong dal water or moong dal khichdi (very soft, no spices)
2. Ragi Kanji 
3 Curd rice
4. Steamed apple puree 
5. Plain toast with Vegetable Soup 
6. Suji upma
7. Poha soaked in water/curd 
8. Mashed ripe banana (only if vomiting has completely stopped) ✨When things are in control- give steamed raw banana/sweet potato to bind the stool 🍠

* No improvement in 24 hours?
* Still vomiting fluids?
* Fever rising or signs of dehydration?
