- Ticking another thing off my ‘40 before 40’ list. This time it’s ‘solo road trippin’. It’s important to admit that I’m more of a luxury travel kinda girl but I wanted to challenge myself. I’ve done a few campers in the past but never done a solo road trip. Was feeling apprehensive about safety and honestly I don’t enjoy tents so I decided to sleep in my car (yes I’m trusting that it will get me to France and back despite recent events iykyk). I made this feather and foam cushion last summer so that was perfect and then bought a few gadgets to help make Nala and I as comfy as possible. Day one complete. I’ll be sharing my route and findings as I go. #roadtrip #solotravel #sleepinginmycar #solotrip
- My first solo road trip is complete! You have been so supportive and interested in how comfortable it was so I wanted to share my tips. I decided to sleep in my car because it felt safer to me than in a tent (and with less setup). Also I always chose campsites so I could use the facilities and have people around me. It worked out between €12-45 per night. The biggest thing was to continue to boycott brands: music (Spotify), petrol (shell, BP, esso), accommodation (Airbnb and booking.com) and food and drinks (all the obvious big names). So it actually felt great to do a two week trip using only independent brands. Also seeing friends along the way was the biggest highlight of all. There wasnt much need to buy a load of camping stuff just a stove, mosquito nets for the windows so I could have them open and magnetic curtains for privacy. If you’re thinking of going on a solo adventure I highly recommend it! #solotravel #roadtrip
- Really finding my flow with this solo road trip. Soaking up all the beauty the south of France has to offer. And amazed by how well Nala is doing. Today she tried her little life jacket for the first time and swam. Hopefully she’ll grow in confidence with it.
