For the past 9 years, MDP has become my home away from home. I’ve learned how to grow in relationships through shared passion and vulnerable moments.  In class, we didn’t only train to become better dancers, but also better people and give back to the world through art. I remember when I wasn’t even able to do a split in recreational classes and now I travel the world competing with my best friends. Little did I know that a coupon to a dance summer camp was going to change the course of my life forever. Miami Dance Project became my second home and Mrs. Barbara and all the other dance moms became like mothers to me for the next 9 years. From being a little girl who used to ride horses,this new foreign movement language captured every part of me and showed me a different world.   I want to thank all the teachers who throughout these years have shaped me into the person I am today. As a dancer I value technique because through it I find freedom. I also value performance because it allows me to share my personal stories and experiences with my body. To me, Miami Dance Project is more than a studio, it’s home. It’s where I found my voice, not just as a dancer, but as a person. MDP shaped me in every way, filling my life with family, unforgettable memories, and friendships that will last a lifetime. One of my greatest blessings was being able to homeschool during my three years of middle school so I could train at MDP full time. Those intense, beautiful days deepened my bond with the girls who’ve walked this journey with me, even with all our highs and lows, no matter where life takes us, we’ll always carry a piece of each other. Barbara’s mentorship has become the voice that persistently pushes me, especially when I feel I’m hitting a wall. Reminding me that that strength is as much mental as physical. That “ROYAL” voice will stay with me forever. I’ve always been adventurous, seeing both life and dance as a journey of self-discovery and expression. I love exploring new experiences, building meaningful relationships and creating. Growth is something I constantly seek, both on and off the dance floor. MDP has been one of the driving forces in my growth.
