Quiet mornings in Santorini - in my opinion, the only way to explore Oia during peak season. Unfortunately, it can be a totally different experience when you’re fighting the cruise ship crowds that usually arrive around 9am each day — highly recommended the early wake up call to enjoy the charming town in peace 💫

Convinced that summer in California goes through September 🚤🌞🌲

Pretty sure I’m the only person who feels this way in 2020 - but I think it should still be fall until after Thanksgiving 🍁 & I never put my Christmas decorations up until the weekend after Thanksgiving. I really think Paris is one of those places that you can visit multiple times and discover/experience something new each time, especially during the different seasons — Such a charming & magical city with so much to see and soak in ✨On my most recent trip in December we only had 36 hours before flying home but we definitely squeezed in as much as possible 💫 Is there a place that you never get tired of visiting? 2020-07-24 04:25:20 I really think Par.. 232 +7% 29 +54%
It was a bucket list experience to stay in a hotel in Paris with a view of the Eiffel Tower 🥰 I would’ve never been able to afford this room during peak season but got such a deal last December that made it doable! I’ll never forget my first trip to Paris — I was on such a tight budget, I didn’t eat out once and ate a baguette and cheese from the local markets for every meal 😂 reflecting back on that trip made me especially thankful for this view...but also, you can’t go wrong with grocery store cheese because all cheese in France is delicious 🙌🏼🧀🥖 2020-07-18 05:21:27 .. 607 +179% 27 +44%

Wishing the best dad in the world a very happy Father’s Day!! For those who don’t know, yesterday was the 25th anniversary of my mom’s death, and my dad has raised me as a single father since I was two and a half so we have a very special bond. I’m so thankful we’ve been able to travel together so much over the past few years. I’ll cherish these memories forever. Things are scary right now. People are dying. Families are grieving. Business are closing. Too many people are struggling financially. It’s hard. I haven’t posted in a while because it felt out of touch and selfish to be sharing pictures from my travels while our world is suffering and going through such a difficult and trying time, and I’ve been dealing with my own anxiety related to all this... but reminiscing on my travels and better memories has been therapeutic for me, and I hope that for everyone else (hopefully also staying at home right now!!) it can provide something to look forward to once we’re able to move beyond this ❤️ 2020-04-02 04:36:26 Things are sc.. 263 +21% 18 -4%

SANTORINI ACTIVITY RECOMMENDATIONS PART 2 — make sure to save this post & the last if you’re planning a trip! ⁣
⁣
5. Amoudi Bay - definitely eat at Sunset Taverna. I've only been for lunch but I've heard it's also amazing for dinner. You def need a reservation for dinner (great spot to watch sunset) but I've been twice during the summer for lunch and didn't need a reservation and was able to get a water-front table both times. After lunch, if you're facing the water, walk left around the bend in the cliff for a perfect swimming spot (you have to jump in and climb up the rocks to get back up, there is no beach, but it's pretty easy to climb back up the rocks, there's like a makeshift stair) - cool spot to watch people cliff jump as well (where the picture in my last post was taken) 💦⁣
⁣
6. Lioyerma Lounge Cafe Pool Bar - if your hotel doesn't have a pool, this is a great option, it's free (just have to order at least one drink) 🍹⁣
⁣
7. Take an authentic Greek cooking class⁣ ⁣
8. Splurge on a nice hotel at least for a night and spend all day hanging at the pool, soaking in the views 😍⁣
⁣
9. Hike from Fira to Oia. Such a scenic hike with so many great photo ops and a great way to get a good perspective of the island, but it does get hot in the summer so I’d recommend going in the morning! & make sure to bring sunglasses, hat, lots of water and sunscreen. The hike takes between 2-4 hours depending on your fitness level and how often you stop (it’s 6.5 miles / 10.5 km) 📸🏃🏻‍♀️⁣

SANTORINI ACTIVITY RECOMMENDATIONS — save this post if you’re planning a trip for next spring or summer! ⁣
1. Go on a wine tour🍷 I've done this twice and it was a highlight of the trip both times. Santorini is a volcanic island so the vines there are very unique and grow in a coil on the ground! It was so cool learning about this and the wine there is really delicious (& the prices for a nice bottle are so much more reasonable than here in the States). The tours take you to a few different tasting rooms and I loved all of them, everyone was so kind, welcoming and excited to host us. We tried sooo much great wine and local food, plus it was a great way to see other less touristy parts of the island. ⁣
⁣
2. Tips if you want to do a ‘self guided’ mini wine tour - One of the more well known wineries (Santo Wines) is right next door, but skip that and go to Venetsanto for even better views and much better service, wines, and an all around more authentic feel. Avantis Cellar Doors is another beautiful tasting room with incredible service. Consider going there for lunch! ⁣
⁣
3. Rent an ATV! Such a fun way to get around and see the whole island - just be careful driving because it can get a little sketchy sometimes with the big tour buses and locals being crazy on their mopeds. I recommend taking the 'new road' to get around because then you can avoid the traffic in Thira. Anyone you ask on the island will be able to point you in the right direction. ⁣
⁣
4. Go on a boat tour! ⛵️Perfect way to escape the crowds on the island and see it from a different perspective. There's also a really cool thermal hotspring you can only visit by boat (just make sure not to wear a white 👙 because the sulfur in the water will turn it yellow).⁣
⁣
If you're staying in Oia, I definitely recommend leaving between the hours of 9am-5pm — all the cruise ship passengers ⁣take over and it gets waaaayy too crowded & unpleasant so plan some of the above activities during the day! Make sure to give yourself enough time to get back for sunset because the roads start getting busy heading into Oia around 6:30pm. ⁣
