A little nostalgia here and there is part of what gives you all those cozy, comfy feelings of knowing that this is YOUR place. The trees in the neutral throw pillow remind me of the ones I fell in love with in Italy. It takes me back to admiring them for hours on the long car/train rides of that trip. When replacing every piece of furniture is not possible, don’t doubt the difference adding a few new pieces can make. This project started 2 weeks into quarantine and that virtual consult was just what I needed to feel like myself again. The world felt upside down but there was a little normalcy in starting a new project for a few furniture pieces. I took a picture during that happy moment. Multiple generations moving in together can present a design challenge when different styles come together. That was the case for this family who were combining antiques with sleek, modern furniture. A look that married both styles was a sophisticated, Restoration Hardware inspired look (without the RH budget of course!) These are the pieces I put together to add to what the family already had for their new living, dining, & entryway.
