![It has now been two months since Louis left us. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your beautiful comments under our last post. We even received heartfelt letters of condolence that brought comfort during this time of mourning.
Some of you have asked whether there might be a new little Louis one day…
Of course, you can imagine that we could never truly “replace” him. Louis was utterly unique—
a little god, the love of my life, the one who simply appeared in the garden one day and stayed.
He carried the wisdom of the world in his eyes.
We’ve often been deeply moved—sometimes even surprised—by how many people from all over the world loved him, followed his adventures on the river, and cherished his daily doses of cuteness and wilderness.
And now, it’s time to whisper a gentle bit of news:
There is hope… and maybe, a little surprise arriving this September…..

2010 – May 25, 2025
Our beloved Purrlosopher has crossed the rainbow.
He chose to leave just as cherries ripened, catnip, roses, red poppy moon and the elder flower tree bloomed, and swan babies swam for the first time.
The wild was ready to hold us gently in his place.
We don’t know the exact reason for his passing.
The day before, we kayaked together one last time.
On Sunday, as he struggled to breathe, he ran back to his favorite garden corner —
and passed peacefully under the tree he loved.
Louis may be gone, but his message is not.
His spirit lives on in every quiet river, every fox cub, every whispering reed. Louis has crossed the rainbow
and from above, he is still guiding us and loving ❤️ you.
