- I’ve always believed in sharing both the highs and the lows, especially when it comes to something as personal as IVF. At the start of March this year, we began our first IVF round for baby number two. But unlike our journey with Junior two years ago, this time the clinic recommended a new protocol and I’ll be honest, the moment they told me it wouldn’t be the same approach as before, my heart sank. Something just didn’t feel right, but when you’re presented with new studies & new science says XY & Z … you follow the advice and trust the process. After implantation, I tried to stay hopeful, but deep down I just had a gut feeling it hadn’t worked and sadly I was right which was heartbreaking. A few weeks later, we were lucky enough to catch my next cycle. This time, we pushed for the same protocol we used with Junior, the one that was more intensive, more medicated, and more aligned with what my body clearly needed. We really needed to trust our instincts and that decision made all the difference. Even my doctor agreed that the natural approach just didn’t suit my body. Sometimes, your body just needs a little more support. And thank God we stood our ground. The outcome could’ve been very different if we hadn’t. (That’s a whole other story for the positive test that I’ll share soon!). This year has been one hell of a journey, but if sharing this helps even one person feel less alone in theirs, then it’s worth every word. 🤍 #ivf #ivfjourney
