I’ve given myself permission to stop “making sense”, and something magical has happened. 🌀 I’ve been learning how to sew my own clothes, picked up a film camera last month, bought an old truck, started selling flower arrangements at farmers markets out of the bed of the truck, and have been painting pieces for my home. I’m cooking lots, started playing video games some evenings, began running almost daily. I wanted to switch to a flip phone, so I did that for 3 months. I used to expect myself to fit into the “outdoor adventure girl” box on here, but I’m so excited to share more of what interests & grounds me - even when it doesn’t all make sense together. 🥹 I’m getting so many glimpses of creative inspiration by not forcing myself into a specific niche!! So if you’ve been feeling stuck, maybe give yourself permission to try something new outside of what people might expect. We are dynamic beings! Went on a little one-night backpacking trip, followed by cherries by the lake with friends 🙂‍↕️🍒 🎞️ I’m obsessed with film photography now, I hope you guys don’t mind. 🤭 if you’ve been here for a while, you know I used to be a full time brand photographer and owned a marketing agency. After 3 years of that career, I experienced severe burnout (as one does when a hobby/passion becomes work) and never fully regained my love for photography…until now. Shooting film has me feeling so creative and inspired - I love how present it allows me to be. I love trying to capture a feeling instead of trying to capture the perfect shot. You take the photo and get right back to living. July in Lake Tahoe is my favorite 🦋🌀🌲 I’ve been to Tahoe a few times, but had never explored the Nevada side until now (most clips in this video are Nevada). 🥹 Safe to say I found one of my new favorite places – the crystal clear turquoise water is pure magic. ✨ We stayed in the coziest cabin at granlibakken with my whole family - I highly recommend! My best advice for consistent journaling 🫶 Don’t over complicate it. Just write one sentence if that’s all you have time for! I cannot tell you how many one sentence entries from the past I adore looking back on, because they’re still a window into how my life was back then. Like going to sleepovers in the 6th grade, or playing in NCAA tournaments when I was a D1 athlete. It’s also surprising how many times I go to write one sentence, and end up writing multiple pages. 😂 Reading back on these journals feels like coming home to myself. If you haven’t journaled much in the past, it’s never ever too late to start🤍 A few simple prompt ideas to get you started: - what did you do today? (you’ll be surprised at how fun this is to look back on) - what are your current thoughts about the world? Things happening in your personal bubble, things happening in politics, etc. - what are your current goals? - what’s something you’re working to overcome?
