Live events are becoming big business for creators. 🎫

This year, creator tours have sold nearly 500% more tickets than last year according to StubHub, with like Alex Cooper’s Unwell Tour and Crime Junkie’s podcast tour being some of the biggest tours so far.

I spoke to eveuptonclark for fastcompany on why we’re seeing an uptick in creators hitting the road and why their fans are grabbing tickets and why this is something we should continue to see in the future.

creatoreconomy_live is heading to the East Coast for the first time. 👏🏾

On August 5–6, the go-to event for influencer marketing will be in New York City, bringing together top brands, influencer marketers, social media leads, and creators.

I’ll be attending for the first time as well and hosting a roundtable with brands on how to create a content flywheel using the creator content they’re already investing in.

I’m also excited to sit in on a ton of sessions myself, from how companies are tapping LinkedIn creators to cut through the noise, to how influencer marketing is becoming a bigger part of go-to-market strategies, how creators are helping brands build unforgettable IRL experiences, and more.

Plus, CEL will also be recording a live episode of their podcast on-site.

And of course, you can’t forget about the networking opportunities.

One of my favorite parts of any event is the face time with industry friends, partners, and new people I haven’t met yet.

Want to learn more about CEL East, check out the speaker lineup, or grab tickets?

TikTok has quietly been rolling out its version of Instagram Broadcast Channels with Bulletin Boards. 🪧

It’s a one-to-many messaging feature that allows creators and brands to create a dedicated space for their followers, where they can share up to 20 bulletins (updates) per day consisting of photos, videos, and text.

Currently, members can only react to messages with emojis.

Much like Broadcast Channels and YouTube Communities, it’s a way for creators and brands to have direct access to and communication with their most loyal fans, without having to worry about the algorithm.

Bulletin Boards can be great for promoting new content, sharing exclusive updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and getting feedback from fans.

We hear a lot about what brands want from creators, but what do creators want from brands?

#SproutSocialPartner

According to sproutsocial’s new State of Influencer Marketing report, here’s what matters most to creators when choosing brand partners:

💡 61% say brand values aligning with their own
💰 59% say budget and payment structure
 🎯 41% say brand-product fit with their audience’s interests

These reflect many of the things I personally look for before entering a brand partnership as a creator.

For me, it’s important to work with brands that share my values, to be compensated fairly based on the scope of work, and to promote something I believe will be valuable to the people who enjoy my content.

For marketers, understanding what drives creators’ decisions is a real advantage.

It’ll help you understand why a creator may or may not want to work with you and, more importantly, remind you that influencer marketing is a two-way street.

When you approach it that way, you’re far more likely to find success with your creator program.

If you want to dive deeper into how creators approach brand partnerships, how influencer marketing is shaping the way we shop, and where the industry is headed, check out Sprout Social’s full report.

As more creators flock to linkedin, the platform is rolling out new tools to help creators elevate their presence.

The newest update is a trio of post-level analytics that show how your posts drive profile views, new followers, and link clicks.
Here’s what’s new:

👁️ Profile viewers from this post — How many people visited your profile after seeing the post.
🌱 Followers gained from this post — How many new followers you gained from the post.
🎯 Link engagement (Premium users only) — How many times your CTA button was clicked from the post.

By identifying trends in your content and the actions it drives, you can optimize your strategy based on what matters most, whether that’s getting profile visits (and potential opportunities), gaining followers to grow your audience, or driving clicks to your products, services, or newsletter.

This update builds on the roll out of other metrics like Unique Views and Average Watch Time, giving creators and marketers deeper insights into how their content performs.

I had a blast at socialmediaweek 2025. liahaberman and I, alongside adweek’s kenkenkitty, had a great conversation about why creator content should go beyond social media feeds and the impact it can have.

I also got to connect with a lot of digital friends IRL for the first time and meet some new faces.

With every Social Media Week I’ve attended, it gets a little better each time. Thanks, Adweek, for the opportunity! Looking forward to the next one! #SMW #socialmediaweek

One of the biggest mistakes brands make when working with influencers is giving them too many talking points. 📝

They want influencers to share too many product features, too much brand messaging, and multiple CTAs.

You may want the influencer to speak to everything, but when an influencer has a laundry list of key talking points that they have to try to incorporate into a 60-second video, it can be overwhelming.

And the content they end up producing often turns out to be ineffective. Plus, the audience likely won’t remember much, if any, of the messaging.

That’s why talking points should be limited to two—maybe three tops.

I’m excited to be partnering with typeform for their #GetReal survey, where they’re looking for creators, marketers, everyday social media users, and more to share their insights on influencer marketing. #TypeformPartner

The creator economy is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, but the platforms creators build on benefit more from their content than the creators themselves.

That’s starting to change.

According to kajabi’s State of Creator Commerce report, 59% of creators now identify as entrepreneurs — up from 50% just last year. (Kajabi Partner)

These creators are shifting from being Social-First Creators, those who rely on social media for income and monetize through brand partnerships and platform payouts, to Entrepreneurial Creators, who still use social media to build their audience but don’t depend on it for income.

Instead, they’re building sustainable businesses around owned channels and products like coaching, memberships, digital products, newsletters, and more.

And it’s paying off. Creators taking this route are earning 20% more than their platform-dependent peers, and those using Kajabi products are earning up to 200% more.

They’re also gaining creative freedom, more control, and a better work-life balance, many of the quality of life benefits that creators want.

What’s driving the shift? Platform volatility.

Between constant algorithm changes and even a potential TikTok ban, creators are recognizing the need for ownership and stability to future-proof their businesses.

Want more insights on how creators are succeeding beyond social media? Check out the full report via the link in bio.

Instagram is making big changes to profiles.

Here’s what’s changing (and some of these updates are already rolling out):

📸 Tall Grid: Photos and videos on the profile grid are transitioning from square to a vertical, rectangular format, a change that’s been in testing for months.

🎨 Custom Thumbnails: Creators will soon be able to customize the thumbnails of their photos and videos on the grid.

🔖 Highlights Tab: Highlights are being integrated into the grid as a dedicated tab.

🔄 Reorder Your Grid: Instagram is adding a tool that lets creators reorder their entire grid, making it easier to move posts wherever they want.

📤 Post Directly to Grid: A new option will allow creators to skip the feed and post directly to their profile. 2025-01-24 18:27:55 .. 1 -94% 0 -100%
