![Hotlanta, it is… but this year hit different!After living in Georgia for over 20 years, I’ve never seen Summers this brutal. Even my kids’ 🎼🎤🎸concerts—something they looked forward to all year—were canceled TWICE because of the extreme heat. As a mom, that was heartbreaking.
We’d usually embrace Summer holidays, but not this year. My electric bill has skyrocketed from running AC nonstop.
Lake day with water felt like a jacuzzi at 100°F or hiking were not even an option. And it is sad that my kids are stuck inside until sunset, glued to screens due to this unbearable heat. I feel for families with pets too—it’s been so hard. I am grateful to find ExtremeWeatherSurvivors for resources that help families like mine cope and find new ways to make the most of summer.
