It was held at the beautiful extonparkvineyard We got to hear about the history of the vineyard from Robin (raising a glass to Malcolm who brought Exton Park to life, cheers πŸ₯‚) and the real life adventures, highs and lows, opportunities and the future of running a vineyard in the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ There are currently 1100 or so vineyards in the UK and it’s an industry that’s booming because of the change in climate πŸ‘Œ I can get on board with that! β˜€οΈ πŸ‡ Some bottles of the sparkling rosΓ© may have come home with me! Anything is possible with a set of instructions and a coffee! β˜•οΈ 🏠 Just a little snippet of my new laura.james.home Marilyn boucle chairs, one of which is in my dressing room. So we got 6 of the dining chairs and 4 will be permanently at the dining table and the other 2 are in my dressing room and in our guest room and then when we need them for 6 people around the dining table we have the option. We also got the matching Marilyn bar stools! I’ll do a separate video of the set up in the kitchen / dining area. But thought I’d show you how easy they are to put together and how gorgeous they look in any room. We went for the black legs to match our black kitchen but there is also the option of whitewash legs. The chairs also come in ivory outlined in black edging which looks so smart and soft beige. Boucle is a material we’ve featured throughout our home, particularly in cream, I like that it fits in with the neutral tones but stands out and makes a statement because of the texture which adds depth so the space isn’t flat. I’ve also found that because of the bobblyness (technical interior term?? 🀣) it doesn’t seem to mark as easily as a flat material which is useful because of the dog and of course the inevitable spillage of food at the table or make up in my dressing room. Guesses in the comments πŸ‘€ 🏠🩷 It took us a very long time to find the perfect olive tree for this space, we wanted something fake because let’s face it I can’t keep any plant alive, and something that was pretty huge (this one is 2.4m, ceiling height is 3m) and something that didn’t cost Β£4000 πŸ˜… Then one day our project manager Seb overheard us arguing about olive trees and said he had seen some at costco_uk Can you believe I had never heard of Costco??!!!! Where there’s a will, there’s a way! 🏠🩷 (Watch to the end for the new car reveal πŸ‘€) At the start of the year when we were planning our β€˜light refurbishment’ we began throwing around design ideas that were really a dream scenario, not necessarily intending to be able to achieve them all. Hours were spent on pinterestuk curating pins of our ideal property. At some point in a β€˜light refurbishment’ as many of you will know, you hit a point of no return, usually when you remove the first item and realise it has triggered a whole load of other work πŸ˜…β€¦ what started with removing the kitchen then lead us to replace the floor. If we were going to replace the floor then we might as well put in underfloor heating. If we are putting in the pipe work and plumbing for the underfloor heating then we might as well update the plumbing throughout. If we’re updating the plumbing we might as well replace the bathrooms… and so on until we realised we were back to brick and there was no going back! When we told different people about our plans to create a Mediterranean villa in the heart of London a lot of reactions were - This won’t work, that won’t be able to be put there, this is too big, that is too expensive, those aren’t on trend etc etc That’s where we have to remember, interiors are like art. It’s very subjective and everyone has their own opinion. And that’s ok! Some choices we’ve made are like marmite, people love it or hate it, not everything is everyone’s cup of tea. And that’s ok. So here’s your sign to be as creative, different and stand out as you want to be! As you can tell from this video, I’m a β€˜yes’ girl, throw me any crazy idea and I’ll probably catapult myself into it. Last week I headed for a lesson at golfrooms with golfroomsgary which I highly recommend if you’re also a golf newbie and wondering where to start… even in just a 30 minute lesson I learned so much about the basics of golf, setting up a shot, which club should be used for different shots and of course how to hold a club! My parking secret 🀫 πŸš— Everyone thinks I’m mad for driving in London but the truth is 1. I have to get my house hunters from property to property and show them different areas 2. When you know where to park and can roll up to your reserved spot it makes life that bit easier πŸ‘Œ Thanks to justparkhq I can reserve spaces in advance so I don’t have the stress and panic of trying to find a spot to park when I’m showing houses.
