- You may have noticed that I haven't been in here for a while. Unfortunately, I have really been struggling with long covid, and have had to take the decision to leave nutrition coaching behind. Coaching intensively 1:1 and wearing all the hats in a business, has been too difficult to continue. I have to work in a more manageable way that means I can work on my fatigue and breathlessness. I've been able to get amazing results for clients but neglected myself in the process. So now I must practice what I preach! I have taken a new job for a vegan organisation which I'm very excited for in July but I can't talk about. You can still catch me over at thrivingveganfamily 😊 Thank you to everyone who supported me online, shared, commented and sent love over the years. - Cravings are driven by your brain’s need for a “reward” — not your body’s need for food. If you can have only one bite and stop there, indulging a little when you get a craving is absolutely fine. But if you tend to binge and overeat as soon as you get a taste of sugary foods, then giving in to the cravings is the worst thing you can do. I recommend 3-4 weeks completely off refined sugar to retrain your habits, and then occasional treats. This does depend on the person, but when I had biscuit cravings, I know I couldn’t just stop at one. Even if I portioned them out and did all the other modest stuff! I’d go back for more... and more. I needed to draw that line for a while. If you love the above tips, this is something we work on in massive detail inside my program “Lighter Leaner and Loving Yourself’. Whatever your ‘addiction’ or obsession may be, we tackle it together, put a foolproof plan in place and get you back in control over food and your body. And on those days where it all seems too much, I’m right there a message or voice note away to coach you through it. So you can’t BS yourself with “oh just one more biscuit...” like I used to. One of my clients, MG, had a salty fries obsession. They literally couldn’t pass a fast food place without grabbing a portion. They were putting so much oil into their body! Together we got them to a place where they didn’t even care for the taste of fries anymore - let alone crave them!
