A morning routine will set your day up for success. You will be more calm, in control, and mentally resilient. 

In order to win the day, you must start strong. 

1. NO SOCIAL MEDIA / NEWS - first 1 to 2 hours should be social media free: Don’t feed into your desires. Lock your apps. Get an alarm clock and Sleep with your phone outside of your room. 

2. Prayer or meditation - I pray to the creator. Practicing gratitude from the minute I wake up to show appreciation for my life and what I have. You can also do this through journaling. 

3. water & electrolytes - I sometimes do a ginger lemon shot as well but do this BEFORE caffeine. Caffeine dehydrates our bodies so making sure we’re constantly hydrated is so important 

4. Reading or learning - the holy book of your religion, a self help book, a new skill set for a side hustle, or the language you always wanted to learn. If you don’t make time for the things you want in life - then when will your life change? 

5. A high protein breakfast - fuel your body. 

6. Movement - if you move your body almost every day you are reducing anxiety & depression (in most cases), increasing mental resilience, life longevity, weight loss, clarity, focus - if you don’t have time for this in the morning, make it a priority after work. 

7. Looking presentable - being confident in your outfit, how you show up. Steaming your clothes, lint rolling, looking good for YOURSELF. Not for others. This helps me with productivity vs wearing sweats every day. 

I am not saying you have to wake up at 4am and do everything I listed. Even 1 hour earlier will change your life. If you struggle with waking up early start with your night routine. Start with one thing and try to improve daily.

Why I cut out music… 

I think we can all agree that music is a form of art, it’s beautiful and I will always appreciate it. Although it is damaging to our soul. 

I used to be addicted to music. I would wake up with it, sleep with it - when I was sad, I listened to music to make me even more sad. Vise versa when it came to “wanting to feel happy” . 

Why do we let something like music have so much control over our moods? Why is it that a song comes on when we’re training and it makes us train even harder? Or if a song we don’t like starts playing, we won’t train as hard. Let’s not forget that some of us would SKIP the gym because we forgot our headphones (I was guilty of this). 

I didn’t want anything having that much control over me or my mood. 

I can focus on mind to muscle connection better when I have no music. I can focus on using my mind to get me through the toughest sets of my workout / runs without depending on anything. Thus building more mental strength within me to apply to the real world. 

The last thing I want to say is this is purely from a psychological view. if I were to speak about it from a faith pov - secular music is damaging and degrading to society & women. Hence why it is spiritually toxic when it comes to practicing our faith.

Circuit 2- 3rounds (depending on comfort) 

1.a kneeling pallof press - 15 reps, repeat on each side 

1.b DB rdl w row - 15 reps 

1.c DB snatch - 15 reps 

1.d DB alt reverse lunge - 12 reps 

1.e push up w press - 8 reps

steak + chimichurri is the ultimate combo

Full recipe below 🤍 

For the chimichurri :
- 1/2 handful of parsley chopped finely
- salt, and red pepper
- 3-4 garlic cloves chopped finely
- 1/2 c olive oil

For the steak:
- set out steak until room temp, season with salt and pepper
- sear steak on a pan (high heat), 2-3 minutes on each side
- take off steak and place oil or butter into the same pan, place steak into the pan and then put into the oven
- cook steak in the oven at 425 for about 3-4 minutes depending on how you like your steak cooked (I prefer medium)
- set aside steak (let it cool down before cooking) , once warm then cook into steak

For the sweet potato :
- bake at 425 for 50 minutes, I like to coat my sweet potato with olive oil before cooking
- mix sweet potato with cinnamon brown sugar mix (Cinnamon, brown sugar, coconut oil)

Here are the ways I’m practicing gratitude: 

1.	Morning journaling – write down what you’re grateful for before the day begins. Keep a journal by your bed so you can wake up and write immediately rather than picking up your phone. 
	2.	Self-reflection journaling – at night, ask yourself where you can grow, what you can improve, and end the night with positive thoughts. 
	3.	Prayer & meditation – always thank God for what you already have, and reflect on how blessed you are. Some people would dream of being in your position. 
	4.	Appreciate the people in your life – reach out to someone you love. Even a small message of kindness can improve your day and their day as well. 

Gratitude isn’t just about writing what you’re grateful for, it’s about truly connecting in the moment. Being present. Loving the life you have despite the challenges, you will be rewarded with so much more when you start to appreciate life for what it is, and stop always seeking & searching for more.
