Anything Goes. A dream show to choreograph. Truly. Never have I been so lucky to create so much dance on a musical theatre stage for so many awesome people! I’ve just recently heard of the passing of the incredible Reiko Kimura Coltek, one of my most memorable ballet teachers back when I was in pre pro at the Atlanta Ballet in middle school and high school. She was an amazing dancer teacher and person, she was one for the first teachers there that I really felt believed in me and my potential. She was so fun and honored ballet in the way that it deserved. I can still hear her in my head in almostst every ballet class i continue to take and teach. Reiko, I will always remember you. You are never too old to learn something new, and it is never too late. We have a beautiful piano that belongs in the family that will stay in the family that sits in my home, and I decided when I was pregnant that it was the perfect opportunity for me to start. I probably took weekly lessons for about seven months. Then, I delivered a child and literally did not sit down for 13 months after that to play the piano at all. I feel like you really do have to manifest for the things that you want, but more than that, you just have to simply make them happen. Easier said than done. Towards the end of my first year postpartum, I was really aching to dance and perform more. I wanted to train harder. Of course, life is a little different now, and there are compromises of time and energy. But I made a lot of calls and messages to work towards fulfilling that artistry inside. I am so fortunate that this performance opportunity for Dancing Stars of Atlanta came up, and I am extremely fortunate that I got to do it with the incredible jonkchen . thank you for the wonderful choreography and for the best time on the dance floor. Just one day in the life of juggling All the things. Like everyone else, some days are tougher than others, but the priorities are on point. I am so glad that this moment was captured. it was not the first, and of course, it will not be the last time that babysitting arrangements fall through, and I taught my favorite beginner ballet class at the studio with my baby in my arms.
