![Took 3 months pp to finally make it to a social gathering (aka an event). If you’ve been around for a while, you know I used to be a total social butterfly—an event hopper. And as a full-time creator, that’s kinda the job: show up, support, network, make things happen.
But for the last few months, I’ve been saying no to everything. Yesterday was different though—a dear friend was hosting, and so many of my close people were going to be there. I knew I had to go. Still, I felt like I was getting ready for a first date. What do I wear? How do I dress this new postpartum body? Finding your style again after baby is… not easy.
And this wasn’t just the usual “I have nothing to wear” moment. It was I literally don’t have clothes that feel like me right now. So I did what I always do when I’m stuck: went straight to my Pinterest boards. I save outfits constantly, and scrolling through them always gives me inspo. Highly recommend if you’re ever in a style rut.
Then of course my brain went to—am I talking too much about my baby? She’s my whole world right now, but I never want to be that girl who only talks about her baby. At the same time, everyone’s asking about her… so is it polite small talk or genuine interest? Who knows lol.
Anyway, all these little thoughts made me realize how much I want to share from this season. Since my boujeebestfriend podcast is currently on maternity leave (at least someone is), I decided it’s time to start writing on Substack. So—consider this my official announcement!
