✨ Thinking of a Disney Cruise from London to the Bahamas? Here’s our full price breakdown so you know exactly what to budget! ✈️ We flew Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow at £708.52 per person (I even used some Virgin Points to reduce the cost a little). 🛂 You’ll need an ESTA visa to enter the U.S. (since you depart from Florida). The fee is currently $21 pp (≈ £16) — but note: this will increase to $40 from 30 September 2025. 🚗 From our hotel (Wyndham Grand) to Port Canaveral we booked a Lyft — just over an hour’s drive, costing $64.99 (≈ £48). 🚢 For five nights and three Bahamian islands, the cruise itself came to $1,741.32 pp (≈ £1,350 pp). This includes my 10% placeholder discount, which makes it even better value considering the world-class service and entertainment on board. Honestly, for a Disney Cruise this felt very reasonable, and the experience was unforgettable 🌴✨ I was actually really nervous because this was our first time flying and cruising. I worried about potentially missing the cruise due to flight delays, and I even stressed about getting into the U.S. with the ESTA visa process (I’m not a criminal😜 but I’ve heard some crazy stories!). ✈️ TRAVEL UPDATE: EES for families explained! From 12 October 2025, the new EES (Entry/Exit System) will replace passport stamps for anyone travelling from the UK to most EU countries. Instead of getting your passport stamped, you’ll have your face and fingerprints scanned the first time you enter. Your details are then stored for up to 3 years, so future trips will be quicker. 👨‍👩‍👧 What about children? ✔️ Kids under 12 still go through EES, but no fingerprints are taken — just a facial photo. ✔️ From 12 years and up, children are treated the same as adults with both fingerprints and facial image collected. This only applies to non-EU visitors (so yes, that includes us in the UK). Be ready for longer queues at the start while everyone adjusts, especially in popular spots like France and Spain. AD Mini Review: The Legend of the Titanic Exhibition – London This is a great option for Titanic fans, especially older kids and adults who are genuinely interested in the story and history. The exhibition leans heavily on visual storytelling with large projection rooms and two VR experiences. The first VR experience is more of a seated overview, while the second VR set — where you can walk through the ship — is definitely the more engaging of the two. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it for under 10s unless they already have a strong interest in the Titanic. How TUI F’d up our Jamaica holiday ✈️☀️ and even cost me a friendship 💔 This is my honest review of Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica 🇯🇲 TUI emailed us on 23rd June — just 6 weeks (42 days!) before we were due to fly on August 4th — saying the hotel would be under renovation and our stay ‘might be affected.’ They gave us just 10 days to decide if we wanted to stay or move to one of 5 alternative hotels… two of which were adults-only (when we were travelling with kids 🤯). We decided to stick it out, but my so-called friend switched behind my back to RIU Ocho Rios. Bear in mind, we booked this holiday together so our kids (both only children) could have fun with each other. That friendship ended right there. At the hotel, the rep was hardly ever around, and when I finally found him, he tried to make me feel sorry for him — apparently the hotel doesn’t even give him water. That sounds like a TUI problem and not a guest problem??? Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica is NOT a good hotel. Yes, we had some fun, but the issues were endless. It’s closing soon for a full refurbishment, and honestly, it’s needed. Hopefully it’s better after that.
