Did you know you can stay overnight on the Chatsworth Estate? Unfortunately, you can’t have a sleepover at Chatsworth House itself (aka Pemberley); however, the next best thing is booking a stay at cavendishhotelbaslow located on the Chatsworth Estate.

What makes The Cavendish truly unique is its location on the Chatsworth Estate. Guests can wander straight across the grounds to Chatsworth House — one of England’s most iconic stately homes — or set off on countless walking trails without even needing the car. Hotel guests also get access to the Chatsworth Health & Fitness Club, complete with a pool, gym, tennis and netball court.
🛌 ROOMS
The rooms have all been recently refurbished, with a carefully curated collection of antique furniture, original artworks and playful pieces made by talented local Derbyshire potters and upholsterers. I fell in love with the dainty wallpaper, soft fabrics, grand four-poster beds, and cosy armchairs sitting in front of big windows overlooking the rolling hills. There are both accessible and dog-friendly rooms available at The Cavendish.
🍽️ DINING
Dinner here is a real highlight. The Gallery restaurant offers refined dining with a seasonal menu that champions local produce from the estate itself – paired perfectly with wine pairings from Stuart (our charming sommelier for the evening) – it’s no surprise it’s been awarded 3 AA Rosettes. If you’re after something more relaxed, The Garden Room serves up classic dishes within a conservatory (inspired by the glasshouses at Chatsworth), with a sunny terrace that I happily spent the afternoon drinking G&Ts on.

The festive season is one of the best times to visit London to witness the city come alive with magical decorations and whimsical Christmas light displays. There’s ice skating, mulled wine, carol singing, festive markets and so many fun activities to check out.
As a London local, I notice that most of the decorations usually go up from mid-November – with some London Christmas lights switched on from the first week of November. However, I recommend visiting London from the last week of November to ensure you don’t miss out any of the festive fun.

![🇬🇧 Stunning hotel in the Peak District, England ⬇️
Welcome to wildhiveuk, a boutique hideaway tucked away on the edge of the Peak District.
Set in a stunning Victorian country house surrounded by 35 acres of woodland and gardens, Wildhive Callow Hall is the perfect base for a long weekend escape, only 3 hours from London. It’s a short drive from some of my favourite spots in the Peaks, including Thor’s Cave, Dovedale Stepping Stones and Milldale.
🛌 ROOMS
Wildhive has 15 individually designed rooms inside the main house, each full of character with vintage-inspired furniture, calming colour palettes and cosy touches that make you feel instantly at home. If you’re looking for something a little different, you can also stay in one of their woodland Hives (perf for couples) or Treehouses (great for families) – the latter comes with a large wrap-around deck and an outdoor copper roll-top bath so you feel fully immersed in nature. We spent our evenings drinking hot chocolate and gazing up at the clear, starry sky before retiring to our plush king-sized bed.
🍽️ DINING
At The Garden Room restaurant, you’ll find seasonal dishes made with locally sourced ingredients (many from the hotel’s own kitchen garden). Expect beautifully plated, flavour-packed menus that celebrate the best of Derbyshire produce. I’ll be forever dreaming of the incredibly delightful Cornish Lemon Sole we had for dinner, served with Queen scallops and lobster butter.
🌿 GROUNDS & FACILITIES
The real joy of Wildhive is in its setting. With 35 acres of meadows and ancient woodland to explore, you can spend hours wandering trails straight from the doorstep. There are bikes to borrow, outdoor activities like foraging and wild swimming, and even a wellness cabin tucked away in the woods for yoga, meditation and treatments. After a day of exploring the Peak District, nothing beats cosying up by the fire pits on the terrace with a glass of wine - you can even request marshmallows to toast (and best believe we did).

Bibury, located in the Cotswolds, has just been named the most beautiful village in the world, topping the list of Forbes’ 50 most beautiful villages in the world, according to travel experts - beating places like Hallstatt in Austria and Oia in Greece. Having been to Bibury multiple times in the past, its one of my favourite places to visit in England however you’re really spoilt for choice in the Cotswolds, which is home to lots of adorable villages with chocolate box cottages, medieval churches and charming cobblestone lanes – it’s hard to pick a favourite village!

![🇬🇧 Beautiful spa hotel in England ⬇️
Welcome to thetawnyhotel – a “deconstructed” style luxury hotel where instead of one big building, you stay in your own private cabin, treehouse or boathouse dotted across 70 acres of rolling countryside. The Tawny is all about escaping into nature, located just outside the Peak District, while still enjoying the height of luxury and comfort.
🛌 ROOMS
Every single room type at The Tawny has its own private hot tub! I stayed in one of the incredible retreat lodges, which had a private deck with a massive copper bathtub that looked out onto the woodland. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows make you feel surrounded by the greenery, and the design is sleek and cosy with huge beds you just melt into. An extra special amenity is the fully complimentary minibar that’s restocked every day!
🍽️ DINING
Dinner at The Plumicorn was lip-smackingly good – the menu is built around seasonal, locally sourced produce with creative ingredient pairings. I had the Duck Confit with Duck Fat Bread & Butter Pudding and a side of carrots drenched in Tawny Honey and Miso – every single dish was sensational. Breakfast was a real treat (& included in the room rate), best enjoyed in the main restaurant with its giant windows looking out to the scenic views over the natural ponds.
🌿 GROUNDS & FACILITIES
Wandering around the grounds is a whole enchanting activity of its own – landscaped gardens, lakes, woodland trails and endless spots to just chill, or enjoy a made-to-order picnic from the reception team full of fruits, cheeses, local produce and more bubbles. Guests are invited to make full use of the heated outdoor pool built into the hillside, where you can swim with a view all year-round. GAIA Spa treatments are available at The Tawny, I enjoyed a heavenly bespoke massage, a custom-tailored experience that (almost) lulled me into a deep sleep.
Btw, The Tawny is dog-friendly, which made it feel extra wholesome seeing pups trotting happily around the grounds.

Here are my recommendations on the best places to visit in Europe for warm weather during October. I suggest booking your trip in the first week of October or if you’re based in Europe and be flexible, wait for a heatwave forecast and then book your trip. I have done this many times in the past and enjoy a full week of sunshine and warm weather in these locations.
1. 🇪🇸 Spain
Mallorca, Ibiza & Menorca are still warm in October, averaging 23°C (73°F) with sunny days and swimmable seas.
2. 🇮🇹 Italy
Southern spots like Capri, Positano & Sicily are still warm, around 22°C (72°F). October also brings harvest season, which means plenty of wine festivals across Tuscany.
3. 🇲🇪 Montenegro
The Bay of Kotor & Budva Riviera enjoy daily highs of 22°C (72°F), with warm Adriatic waters & stunning coastal scenery.
4. 🇵🇹 Portugal
Lisbon & the Algarve enjoy highs of 22°C–25°C (72°F–77°F) in October, making it an ideal time for beach days and exploring cities without the scorching summer heat.
5. 🇹🇷 Türkiye
Antalya & Bodrum on the coast hits 25°C (77°F) with plenty of sunshine. Inland, Cappadoci no a has mild, sunny highs of 20°C (68°F) — a great time to see the famous hot air balloons.
6. 🇮🇨 Gran Canaria
This Canary Island is a year-round sunshine escape, with October temps averaging 26°C (79°F). Perf for golden beach days & hiking.
7. 🇭🇷 Croatia
Dubrovnik, Split & the Dalmatian Islands still see highs of 23°C (73°F), with warm Adriatic waters and the intense summer crowds long gone.
8. 🇬🇷 Greece
Santorini, Paros & Mykonos average 23°C (73°F) in October – as do many of the greek islands. The seas are still warm for swimming, and you’ll catch golden sunsets without the peak-season chaos.
9. 🇫🇷 France
Menton, Saint-Tropez & Nice on the French Riviera, enjoys around 22°C (72°F) in October. It’s warm enough for al fresco dining and coastal walks.

📍Lago di Braies
Arguably one of – if not the most – Instagrammable spots in the Dolomites, Lago di Braies (also known as Pragser Wildsee) is a stunning emerald-green lake surrounded by towering mountains.
You simply can’t visit Lago di Braies without going in one of the iconic wooden boats. It costs €50 for 45 minutes, which is a bit steep, however I personally thought it was well worth it. It would be like visiting Venice without going on a gondola ride. You also get a free magnet & postcards to take with you as a souvenir.
Be sure to pack some comfortable shoes! There is a gorgeous 1-hour hiking trail around the lake, which a lot of people miss when they only come for the boat ride.
I personally think this is one of the best things to do in the Dolomites as it’s a very moderate-level hike. Plus, this trail will take you past some adorable alpine cows chilling on the lakeshore.
There are a few cafes/places to grab food around the lake, however I would avoid them as they have horrible reviews. Instead, pack some snacks and head to a nearby restaurant for lunch! We went to Trattoria Mösslhof Alto Adige and had amazing homemade South Tyrolean dishes here.
NOTE: Swimming in this lake is not permitted!

If you’re coming to London soon, the LondonEye is an absolute must – whether it’s your first visit or your third. As a London local, I’ve been to plenty of viewpoints across the city, but what makes the London Eye so unique is that the view constantly changes as you slowly rotate. One moment you’re hovering above Westminster Abbey, the next you’re face to face with London’s city skyline.
Once you step inside one of the spacious glass pods, you’ll do a full 30-minute rotation, reaching heights of 135 metres at the top – plenty of time to take in the views, snap some selfies and get those postcard-perfect photos.
⭐️ Tip: No matter when you go, the views are amazing, but if you can, book the golden hour slot for an unreal sunset and to watch the city light up for the evening.

Dinner at Omboo was the highlight of my stay. This pan-Asian sharing style spot serves a steady flow of flavour bombs! I’d personally recommend ordering the flavoursome miso-glazed black cod, the buttery-soft seared A5 grade wagyu, spicy aubergine, and dragon rolls to name a few. You’ll also find a relaxed restaurant, The Brasserie, for brunching and Sunday Roasts, and the elegant Octagon Bar for a carefully crafted cocktail – be sure to try my fave tipple: the Sparkling Barnes.
🛌 ROOMS
I had the pleasure of staying in one of the Chic Rooms, which have been recently refurbished in a soft palette of neutrals, terrazzo accents, king beds you really sink into, ELEMIS toiletries and the fluffiest robes for your spa experience.
