This week we got Lily settled into college at Sewanee. It’s a unique combo of feelings moving your first born and half of your entire heart into a place where you know she is going to grow, learn and thrive. How did this day get here so fast? Wasn’t I just buying her ANOTHER beanie boo? Weren’t we just laying in bed reading the magic treehouse together? How many older moms told me to “soak every minute up!” Because “it goes so fast!”?? Why didn’t I listen to them?? Now I get to be that mom who gives younger moms that same advice (which they will be too busy to listen to too). so while I’m sad about the end of a big chapter in our lives, I’m also really excited to keep supporting and loving our girl as the world begins to get to know her and all of her cuteness, brilliance, humor, wit and so much more. So in those moments when I’m missing her being home I’m so thankful for texts, FaceTime and location sharing. I’ve probably announced to zakimble where she js every 2 hours since I left her.
