First week in Bali🧡

I did my own fitness retreat lol The most visited places on my list were gyms (some with beautiful rice fields views or nature overlooking), cute coffee shops, yoga or Pilates studios, spa and massage shops, beaches for walking along the coast, beach bars for sunset spots, and lots of amazing restaurants with yummy food to fuel my body.

Meet Klaudia, a super busy mum of 2 children and co-owner of the restaurant!🤩

She joined EmpowerFIT Program 6 months ago wanting to improve her lifestyle and relationship with food. 

Despite the work, family and million responsibilities she had to commit to every day, she still found time to work on her health❤️

	1. We have been working on removing bad eating habits and implementing good ones each week. 
	2. We set calories, macros; high protein, high fats and medium carbs due to her hormonal imbalance issue. 
	3. We set up a tracking system for food, steps and workouts so she can always keep herself motivated. 
	4. We implemented simple but effective home workouts to strengthen her body and build strength. 
	5. We added more steps each day consistently for 6 months.

body weight workouts are great but they can only get you so far and build minimal muscles. ⁣

After you’ve built enough strength and muscle to withstand your own body weight you should progress to more resistance to continue building muscles (aka toning up).⁣
⁣
Home workouts are good if you’re a busy mum or someone who has very limited time but you still have to add some resistance to see muscle growth. ⁣
⁣
If you’re just looking to move your body and improve overall fitness level then at home⁣
workouts can be a great choice! ⁣
⁣
If you want to have that “toned body”, you need to be following a progressive overload style of weight training. This means increasing resistance gradually each week and tracking your progress! ⁣

Ok, here are things you shouldn’t do for cardio if you want to drop body fat: ⁣
⁣
1. Stop doing cardio before your lift if you want fat loss. Always do it after or at a separate time but NEVER before.⁣
⁣
2. Stop doing high intensity cardio ONLY for fat loss. Cardio is important, but combining it with strength training can help you build muscles, boost metabolism and enhance overall fat loss.⁣
⁣
3. Stop excessive cardio sessions! Overdoing cardio can lead to muscle loss, which can decrease the metabolic rate and make it harder to lose fat. ⁣
⁣
4. Stop doing fasted cardio excessively. By doing cardio on empty stomach can lead to muscle loss and reduced energy. Fasted cardio is actually not superior to non fasted one. ⁣
⁣
5. Stop ignoring heart rate zones. Effective fat burning occurs in specific heart rate zones. ⁣
⁣

This shift changed everything for me. ⁣

I’ve wasted a lot of time in the past by following wrong advice so I want you to save your time and teach goals faster! ⁣
⁣
Here are 3 habits that were a waste of time and slowed my progress:⁣
⁣
1. Doing workouts from social media or random workouts - when I started my fitness journey I didn’t follow a program, and this was a HUGE mistake. Random Instagram workouts are not going to get your results and most the time are posted to get high views only. Start following a structured program that is the same split for at least 4-6 weeks.⁣
⁣
2. Not tracking macros - some people may disagree with this one but how do you know what you’re putting into your body if you aren’t mindfully making note of it? Tracking macros only allows you to reach goals faster and be better equipped along your journey. When we know exactly what/how much we are consuming we can easily control calories and manipulate macros to get better results. ⁣
⁣
3. Not having a coach!⁣
We think we can do it on our own and there’s plenty of great info out there to start but when you have a coach everything is made for you!! A coach is there because they’ve been through it all and can help you get there without making mistakes on your own. I would not have made the progress I have in this amount of time if I didn’t have a coach. And yes coaches have coaches! The best athletes have coaches so it shouldn’t be a surprise. ⁣

Here are 5 essential things you should not skip if you want to maximise gains and reduce body fat:⁣

1. Skipping Compound Movements: like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and pull-ups engage multiple muscle groups and boost your metabolism, aiding in fat loss while building muscle.⁣
⁣
2. Progressive Overload: To continuously build muscle, you need to progressively overload your muscles by gradually increasing the weight, reps, or intensity of your workouts. Without this progression, your muscles will adapt to the current load, and growth will plateau. ⁣
⁣
3. Skipping Cardio: While strength training is crucial for muscle building, cardiovascular exercise is important for overall health and fat loss. Incorporate moderate-intensity cardio like jogging, cycling, or high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to help create a caloric deficit and improve cardiovascular health without compromising muscle mass.⁣
⁣
4. Not Resting Enough: Muscle growth happens during rest, not just in the gym. Skipping rest days or not getting enough sleep can impede recovery and increase the risk of injury. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night and include at least one or two rest days in your weekly routine.⁣
⁣
5. Being afraid of Creatine: If you don’t know much about supplements it may seem scary at first. But creatine can be your gym best friend! Once I started taking creatine daily it boosted my gym performance. Creatine is already produced in your body, but taking an extra daily scoop goes a long way in helping you lift heavier and grow more muscle mass.⁣

Skipping any of these can limit your progress and overall results.⁣

I know you heard that before BUT people don’t actually understand how to get into calorie deficit and what mistakes they make. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So let me explain you better how you can avoid those mistakes and make your weight loss a lot easier! ⁣⁣

1️⃣Counting Calories:⁣⁣
When counting calories do you remember to track everything you consume? This includes things you drink, sauces, butter and oils! To properly be in a calorie deficit you must track everything!⁣
⁣⁣
2️⃣Not training correctly:⁣⁣
Instead of using the same training program over and over again, try to switch exercises every 4-6 weeks and progressively increase weights!! Pair two exercises back to back (supersets) to increase intensity so you can burn more calories during your session.⁣
⁣⁣
3️⃣Restricting too much:⁣⁣
If you are someone like me with a sweet tooth, restricting yourself too much can lead to late night binging and obsessive thoughts. Instead allow yourself one sweet treat a day, or look for healthier options.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4️⃣Not moving enough:⁣⁣
You have to move your body throughout the day.⁣ Make sure you are hitting those 10k steps⁣ (or more!)a day, I promise it does wonders for weight loss. ⁣
⁣⁣
5️⃣Lack of consistency:⁣⁣
To reach your goals you must be consistent. This is why I recommend an online coach or personal trainer, as they can hold you accountable, and do all the hard work of planning and programming for you! ⁣⁣
