The Afghani chicken tikka was sublime. The butter chicken was ok. I have definitely had butter chicken curries; I would not recommend ordering this. The lobster green curry was nice. The portion size was generous, filled with a good amount of lobster. The spicy potatoes were delicious; I’d definitely recommend ordering this. The desserts were decadent and lovely. I loved the pistachio Creme brûlée. The chocolate rasmalai tart was also lovely however, I don’t see how this depicts rasamalai. It’s simply a chocolate dessert to me. The drinks did not taste great, and the cocktail that I wanted was unfortunately unavailable (Darjeeling Cream Soda). We all loved the lychee martinis and kept ordering these all evening. The service was good but could’ve been better. Our waiter noticed that we did not drink the cocktails so he removed them from the bill, which was a very nice gesture. The jumbo prawns were cooked very well. You can’t go wrong with a classic butter chicken and it tasted lovely. The Goan hake curry was coconutty, smooth and tasty. The lamb biryani was another standout dish that I would recommend ordering. For dessert we opted for their take on sticky toffee pudding. I really enjoyed it. The caramelised ginger pieces throughout the pudding were fiery and added texture. The pudding itself was soft and sticky, and I could’ve eaten lots of the cardamom chantilly. It is on the pricey side, however I cannot fault the service, homely atmosphere and warm welcome. Karishma looked after us very well and was kind, friendly and attentive. The gastropub is also a hotel/boutique with lovely interiors. The butter chicken was the only let down as it was too tomatoey and too sweet for my liking. The lamb biryani however, was delicious. It was succulent, and the rice with fruits was divine. It also comes with raita (a yogurt) to accompany the biryani; I’d highly recommend ordering this. The milk cake was divine; it was soft, creamy and milky. We also enjoyed a chocolate dessert which was exceptional. It was one of the nicest chocolate desserts I’ve had. The Bar Man drinks were also great. For under £10 a drink each, the experience of having the bartender come to your table to make your drinks theatrically is a good cost. I’d highly recommend visiting boombattlebar. It was my first time doing axe throwing and it was so fun. The augmented reality darts were great. There are many different games you can play in reality darts; which keeps it entertaining and not repetitive. Mini golf was one of the best mini golf’s I’ve experienced. The layout and design of it is innovative and original. I haven’t seen a mini golf as complex and unique as this one. It was also my first time playing shuffle board and it’s now my new favourite activity! We visited the Wandsworth branch. The service was great. A special thank you to Seynde (the manager), Jemma and Liam for looking after us incredibly well. It was the perfect consistency. The chilli prawns were a definite highlight of the meal. The tomato-based sauce with garlic and herbs was delicious, and the prawns were cooked very well. Keep in mind that the shells remain on, so it’s a little fiddly. The venison ragu pappardelle was great. It ragu was slow-cooked and falling apart, and the pasta was freshly handmade. My seafood pasta was exquisite and another highlight of our meal. It consisted of prawns, clams, garlic, tomatoes and olive oil. I would highly recommend ordering this. The garlic bread was one of the best I’ve had til date. The garlic and oregano was delicious. The tiramisu was light, fluffy and full of cream. The strawberry panna cotta was also another success. The service was great; we were looked after by Laura (our waitress) and Valeria (the manager). Fatt Pundit📍Covent Garden & Soho I had been wanting to visit fattpundit for the longest time, and I finally ticked it off my food list. Fatt Pundit serves a range of Indo-Chinese dishes. What we ordered: ♨️Crackling Spinach £8.50 ♨️Hakka Chilly Paneer Lettuce Cups £9.50 ♨️Vegetable Hakka Noodles £8 ♨️Bombay Chilly Mock Chicken £10 ♨️Malabar Monkfish Curry £12 ♨️Bombay Chilly Prawns £13 ♨️Kolkata Chilly Duck £12 ♨️Manchurian Chicken £10 ♨️Lamb Chops £15.50 ♨️Vegetable Momo £5.50 (not pictured) ♨️Burnt Ginger Rice £5 (not pictured) ♨️Egg Fried Rice £5.50 (not pictured) ♨️Stir Fry Broccoli £4.50 (not pictured) My favourite dishes and what I’d recommend ordering were: ✅Crackling Spinach - fried spinach with date & plum sauce, yogurt & pomegranates. This was sweet, refreshing and delicious. ✅Lamb Chops - one of the best lamb child I’ve had til date, and the mint chutney alongside it was very tasty. ✅Malabar Monkfish Curry - rich with coconut milk, fresh coconut slices and saffron butter. The fish was also cooked perfectly. I found fattpundit to be slightly underwhelming. I preferred the original shredded duck to the chilly duck with pancakes and cucumber; and the Manchurian chicken was nice but not necessarily memorable. However, I thought that the meat dishes were tastier than the vegetable dishes. For vegetarians, the dishes did not taste incredible, such as the vegetable momo, Hakka noodles and Hakka paneer. The brownie was burnt on the bottom unfortunately. The sizzling plate was theatrical but it was too hot and therefore caused the bottom of the brownie to burn, causing an unpleasant taste. I have had better chocolate brownies/desserts. The service was very good. We were looked after very well with constant attention and care by Udith. The cocktails were delicious. You also receive truffles at the end of your meal which I thought was a cute touch. Half Cup📍King’s Cross I recently visited halfcup_ one of my favourite brunch spots in London. I visited back in 2018 and had the popular Oreo French toast and since then halfcup_ has produced an even better version. What we ordered: 🍳Oreo French Toast £11 🍳Halfcup Full English £11.50 🍳Veg Halfcup Full English £11.50 🍳Chai Latte £4 🍰halfcup_ is known for their Oreo French toast and it’s obvious why. It tastes divine and is one of my favourite French toast’s in London. The French toast is super soft. The Oreo flavour is prominent and the strawberry coulis helps to cut through the sweetness. It also comes with Nutella cream and fresh berries. 🍳The full vegetarian breakfast was yummy consisting of grilled halloumi, avocado, eggs, mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns, sourdough and tomatoes. 🥓The Halfcup full English was delicious. It consists of bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans, fried egg and sourdough. ☕️The chai tea lattes were nice but a bit on the heavy side of spice. The spices and cinnamon were a bit too much for me but otherwise a good hot drink. If you’re in Kings Cross and you’re looking for a good brunch spot, I’d definitely recommend visiting halfcup_.
