Btw - my chapter on homesickness, guilt, and the loneliness that comes with being an immigrant was one of the first chapters I ever wrote in my book, ‘You Deserve Good Gelato’. The feeling of missing your family, friends, culture, language and things that feel comfortable to you, while also feeling guilty for feeling that way. The feeling of missing funerals, marriages, and pivotal moments in the lives of your loved ones. It was incredibly therapeutic to write, so I hope that if you are feeling or have ever felt this way, it’ll help you too 🫶🏻
