🧿 To Istanbul 🧿

City of empires, city of dreams,
where minarets pierce the sky
and ferries dance across the Bosphorus.

Your streets are chaos,
your markets a song of color,
your hills a stage for sunsets.

Galata keeps its timeless watch,
palaces still breathe of sultans,
while the city beats ever onward.

You taste of simit and tea,
of spice and sweetness,
of mornings that linger into night.

But it’s your people I love most—
warm as your sun,
resilient as your stones.

Istanbul—
you are history and heartbeat,
madness and magic,
forever unforgettable.

🌸🤍 Maslak Kasırları 🤍🌸

Tucked away in the leafy Maslak neighborhood, this 19th‑century pavilion was built under Sultan Abdülaziz (1861–1876) as a hunting lodge and summer retreat. Sitting on the Bosphorus ridge, it even got a makeover as a military prep school before opening to the public as a museum in the ’80s. 🧿

💡It’s an ideal spot to visit for those who’ve ticked off the Istanbul classics and crave something off‑beat.

📍 How to get there: Take the M2 Yenikapı - Hacıosman metro line and get off at Atatürk Oto Sanayi stop, cross the boulevard, walk a bit and you will reach your destination
Address: Darüşşafaka, Büyükdere Cd. No:196, 34398 Sarıyer/İstanbul, Türkiye

💸 Ticket prices:
For domestic visitors - 70 TL
For foreign visitors - 250 TL
Garden price - 40 TL

🕰️ Working hours: 09:00–17:30, closed on Mondays.

👣 Why it’s worth it: Spacious rose & hydrangea gardens, an orangery, orchids under glass, hidden hamams, stables, kitchen quarters, and rustic kiosks—all without the usual tourist crowds.

🌸 Plus, now would be the perfect time to visit the pavilion cause it’s “Hydrangea season” and its garden is filled with the blossoms of this lovely flower.

✨ Bulgur Palas, Istanbul✨

Perched atop Kocamustafapaşa Hill in Fatih, the historic Bulgur Palas, originally known as the “Bolulu Habip Bey Mansion”, has been meticulously restored and reopened to the public in February 2024. Designed in 1912 by Italian architect Giulio Mongeri, this architectural marvel showcases the First National Architectural Movement style. Commissioned by Mehmet Habib Bey, a prominent figure who amassed his wealth through the bulgur trade during World War I, the mansion rightfully earned its nickname, “Bulgur Palas.” 🏰

After decades of serving as a bank archive and enduring periods of abandonment, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality acquired the building in 2021. Today, Bulgur Palas stands as a vibrant cultural center featuring:
	•	A 150-seat library housing approximately 25,000 books and documents
	•	An exhibition hall showcasing works like the “Magnum İstanbul” photography exhibition
	•	A garden café offering a serene ambiance
	•	Multi-purpose event spaces for various cultural activities
	•	An observation terrace providing panoramic views of Istanbul’s skyline

📍 Location: Kargı Çıkmazı 5, Aksaray, Fatih, Istanbul
🕒 Visiting Hours: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Closed on Mondays)
📚 Library Hours: Open daily until 10:00 PM
💰 Entrance Fee: Free of charge

Experience the fusion of history and culture at Bulgur Palas—a testament to Istanbul’s rich heritage and its commitment to preserving architectural treasures.

📸 Don’t forget to capture the breathtaking views from the terrace!

Sirkeci Train Station – where East meets West 🧿

🚂 Once the grand terminus of the legendary Orient Express, this iconic station has welcomed travelers since 1890. With its elegant 19th-century architecture and deep-rooted connection to Istanbul’s cosmopolitan past, Sirkeci remains a symbol of timeless journeys.

Today, it still serves local commuters while also hosting cultural events and exhibitions. A fairly new tramvay line starts at the station (T6 Sirkeci–Kazlıçeşme line). Also, you can find here the last European stop of the Marmaray metro line - hoping on it would help you cross continents under the Bosphorus waters 🫣🫨

✨ Bonus tip: Whether you’re a history lover or just chasing the perfect shot, its nostalgic charm makes it one of the most photogenic spots in the city. So don’t forget to save this post and snap a shot there 📸🥰

Can we talk about how magnificent Çamlıca Mosque is?! 🕌

Sitting on the highest hill in Istanbul, this place is massive—we’re talking room for 60,000 people! Even my wide angle camera lens couldn’t capture the whole thing 🙈 It’s the biggest mosque in Turkey and honestly feels more like a palace with its huge domes, six sky-high minarets, and gorgeous details inside and out.

It’s not just for prayers either—there’s a museum, library, art gallery, and a bonus - views over the Bosphorus 🧿

Open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM (just avoid prayer times if you’re visiting as a tourist) 🙏🏻

🚇 Getting there? Take the metro from Üsküdar to Kısıklı Station (M5 line), then it’s a quick cab or a nice little walk up the hill.

Put this on your must-see list when you’re in Istanbul—you won’t regret it.

Hidden Gem on the Bosphorus: Üryanizade Camii 🕌✨

Tucked away on the shores of the Bosphorus in one of my favourite neighbourhoods - Kuzguncuk, Üryanizade Ahmet Esat Efendi Camii is one of Istanbul’s most unique mosques. Built in 1875 by Ottoman Sheikhülislam Üryanizade Ahmet Esat Efendi, this rare wooden mosque stands out with its elegant architecture and stunning waterfront location 🩵

What makes it special? Unlike most mosques in the city, its minaret is also made of wood, a rare feature in Ottoman architecture. With its panoramic Bosphorus views, it offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle.

📍 How to get there?
You can arrive by ferry at Kuzguncuk (although there are very few a day) or at Üsküdar and continue by bus for a few stops ⛴️🚌 Located just below Nakkaştepe park, you can easily reach the mosque when you’re exploring the Kuzguncuk neighbourhood 🥰🤍

A perfect spot for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a tranquil Bosphorus view. 🌊✨
