Food I liked eating in Korea post:
1. 낙지호롱구이 Nakji Horong Gui
while in Mokpo filming with eatingwhatisgiven the morning after we went to a local famous spot for their octopus dishes and ate this small octopus wrapped around wooden chopsticks and grilled with spicy marinade.

2. 짚불구이 삼겹살 Straw fire grilled pork belly
Another spot outside of Mokpo, dooam_food is famous for their pork belly, cooked over straw fire.

3. 유린기 Yooringi 
Chinese style battered and fried chicken with a soy sauce drizzle, micro greens, chilli and pumpkin. I had this at a local spot near where I live, it was my first time and I already love it.

4. 한우 & 굴구이 Hanwoo beef and oyster grill
Bito Seom on the south coast is home to eunjine oyster grill (은지네 굴구이) every year for the past two years we’ve gathered here during the winter oyster season to feast on oysters. The Hanwoo isn’t actually sold here. We’re tight with the owner so he lets us bring our own stuff 🤭

5. 비빔 당면 Bibim glass noodle
This was my first time seeing this at a corner restaurant in Busans Bupyeong market. I wasn’t expecting much but the noodles were perfectly soft and not too chewy, and the marinade was spot on 👌

6. 낙지 볶음 Nakji Bokkeum 
Another local spot in Geoje island. We’d heard that Bokgaecheon Shikdang(복개천식당) was the spot for Nakji Bokkeum which is a spicy stir fried octopus dish. This place nailed their marinade, and the octopus which is pulled out of the tank to order, was cooked perfectly 👌 

7. 돼지국밥 Pork Gukbap
Sort of like the blue collar working man’s meal. Pork gukbap is cheap, prepared fast and super hearty. My local spot pictured here called Bornga Gukbap serves everything in this picture for about $5 and you’ll find me here a lot of days for lunch.

8. 초계국수 Chogye Guksu
This is a cold noodle dish with a slightly tangy, sweet, spicy, icy broth. Served with thin wheat noodles, cucumber, lightly pickled radish and half a hard boiled egg. Refreshing, delicious, fun to eat and a portion size that puts other cold noodles to shame. 🤝

Cooking Johnny unlocked 🔓 pork sooyuk is one of my favourite ways to eat pork, and it’s actually ridiculously easy to make, and makes great leftovers!

Ingredients:
Pork shoulder or belly
Doenjang or dark miso paste
Green onion
Apple pineapple or pear
Meat or veg Stock or cola style soda

Serve with fresh garlic, chilli, Ssamjang sauce and nappa cabbage
