![My favorite part about language learning is doing random things that make a regular day so much funnier 🤣.
My Dutch is solid thanks to all the preply lessons, and self study, so I figured it was time to turn up the heat and learn as much Polish as possible in a few hours to make my Polish friends proud 🥹.
To speed up the learning, I tried out 5 crazy language learning strategies and rating them all so we can invest in techniques that actually work (full video is on my YouTube channel).
Here’s a bit of a spoiler: after all the hacks, I caught myself making critical mistakes because I didn’t have a human to help me discern what to study/call out mistakes - all the more reason to get your preply tutor to make your learning as custom and efficient as possible!

![I’ve been living under a rock finishing up the last bit of my master’s in filmmaking! This will be the second degree I do “just for fun” and am already sad it’s over.
I’ve read dozens of books about storytelling, conducted countless case studies of travel shows, and finished by fully developing, funding, producing, and editing a 30 minute show pilot for my concept, Translated.
I’m combing through all the feedback I’m getting, but the good news is this new pilot I just filmed here in Belgium already improved in comparison to the concept pilot I made in Greece last year by all metrics.

So what’s next? I hit submit on this final project today, hopefully get my Master’s in Filmmaking, and the journey to re-edit it and fund it for the first season actually begins.
What’s clear is I want to collaborate with talented storytellers, editors, and production partners that want to share global goodness with a world that’s becoming more divided by the day.
There’s more good than bad, we just need to spotlight it.

![I woke up to a stream of text messages, videos, and voice notes in several languages.
They all contained a variation of the short and sweet words that shows that you were not forgotten.
You’re cared for.
You matter.
“Happy birthday, parabéns, joyeux anniversaire, gelukkige verjaardag, auguri, χρόνια πολλά.”
The messages continued in ripples for a full 24 hours because of the different time zones they came from.
I smiled in gratitude.
It was my birthday, and these messages were proof that my wish from years ago had come true.
I have built a truly international life.
But in many ways it feels like I’m only a teenager. Like life started somewhere between 18 and 23.
Because that’s when my internationalism got a full chance to spread its wings.
Before that, I was just in preparation.
Learning languages, reading books, researching for the global entrepreneur life I eventually created.
Even when it seemed impossible.
From the visceral pain of long distant relationships, language fails, and expensive everything to visa struggles, homesickness, and bubble guts; creating a global life comes with level hard kind of resistance.
But today, as I read this glorious mosaic of messages from friendships built as I’ve circled the globe…
It’s clear it was all worth it.
This life fits me like a glove. It’s so unique, I could never find another example of it.
So piece by piece, I continue to stitch it together.
It’s custom baby.
As I turn 33, an iconic but also pretty “in-between” age, I can’t help but get excited about what my 43 year old version will be thankful I prepared her for.
What I prepared FOR her.
What books will I read? What relationships will I nurture? What ideas will I turn into reality? Who will I meet, help, fall in love with?
It’s like watching a juicy show with a cliffhanger.
Intoxicating.
Only you’re the executive producer. You’re the writer. You’re the goddamn star.
And over the years you learn what you’re capable of.
Spoiler: it’s probably more than you ever imagined.
How brilliant is that?
It’s all closer to what was always meant just for you.

![April was a beast of a month in the best way. I was too busy living to post. But I do miss being here with you.
So here’s what you missed:
In the last few weeks, I’ve traveled to 6 cities around the world, spoken 5 languages, packed 4 suitcases, filmed 3 episodes of a cool new project, saw 2 different sides of my family, ran 1 joclub_ team retreat and 1 joclub_ client retreat in different locations… and need a giant amount of time to recover 🤣.
It was intense, but holy shit was it gratifying.
I surprised my 91 year old grandpa in Brazil, sang like a crazy person with my family in Connecticut, and got emotional at how my success usually means being far from people I love.
The finite nature of our time together makes it that much more meaningful, no?
