This is the Maasai Village in Tanzania 🇹🇿 Today I had the chance to step into the world of the Maasai people one of the most iconic tribes in East Africa. Ngeti one of the villagers kindly showed me around and even invited us into his home. 🛖 Maasai Houses (Enkaji): 🏠 Built by women in the community 🧱 Materials: mud, cow dung, sticks, grass, and ash ⏱ Takes about 7–10 days to complete one house 👩‍👧‍👦 Usually houses a mother and her children 🌑 Very dark inside just a few small holes for air and light 🔥 The center of the home has a small fire used for cooking and warmth 🛏 Beds are made from wooden sticks covered with animal skins Some cultural facts: 👣 The Maasai are semi-nomadic and may rebuild their homes when they move grazing areas 🛖 Villages (called enkang) are surrounded by a fence made from thorny branches to protect against wild animals 🐄 Cattle are everything used for food, dowries, and wealth 👗 Their traditional clothing is called shúkà bright red and blue wraps 🩸 Despite modern changes many still live according to centuries-old traditions This was such a humbling and eye-opening experience. Tanzania Bucketlist experience 🇹🇿 $600 for a hot air balloon?! 💸 Probably the most expensive balloon ride in the world… but let me tell you 👇🏼 We got picked up at 4am 🥱 drove an hour into Serengeti National Park and just before sunrise, we took off into the sky.
