Let’s talk about French fries. I am and always will be a skinny fry girl. But these fries from rossoblula are on the thicker side, and I’m obsessed. More on what makes these my favorite fries in the universe in Monday’s column.

More great fries happieshandmade .

And the tenders and waffles from Happies.

And more fries… the fries chateaumarmont have been a favorite for years.

The kismetrotisserie x kateberlant Kate’s Crazy Cobb. It’s the latest in the restaurant’s Sandwich Series and it’s available all month. Bacon, cherry tomatoes, feta, avocado, gem and iceberg lettuce, herbs, scallions, jammy egg and mustard vinaigrette. Proceeds go to chirla_org.

I love the stuffed cabbage at brentsdeli . Like a log of really good meatloaf wrapped in tender cabbage drowning in a sweet and sour tomato sauce. IYKYK.

And the 555 sandwich at Brent’s is still great. I order an extra side of Thousand island for dipping.

The non-alcoholic pairings at Kato are thoughtful, innovative and a delight to sip and gulp. If you don’t drink, not drinking at the moment or drink anything, I’d recommend it. This was the first pairing of the evening: Pomegranate, Beijing yogurt, wu wei zi.

And this strawberry, rhubarb and white chocolate dessert with almond tuile was incredible.

mylastbite suggested making an apple fritter-inspired cake for wolfiesmom ’s birthday. This is one of the most fun cakes I’ve ever created. Cooked some honey crisp apples down with brown sugar, cinnamon and butter then used that as the cake filling with brown butter frosting. I took big hunks of apple fritters from mrgoodsdonuts to decorate the cake. No, it’s not fried chicken 😂🫣

And these 2-ingredient tater tot cheese chips that mylastbite made for the birthday celebration.

Have a great week ahead! Happy eating.

The best things I ate and sipped, with highlights in Monday’s latimes column:

danieleuditi stirring a gargantuan pot of his pasta e fagioli. It’s a dish he made at his family’s restaurant in Naples and it’s a favorite at his new dinner club leledinnerclub .

The pasta e fagioli is wheeled around to each table. Dinner feels like a casual, intimate, multi-course meal at a friend’s home, and that’s the idea. More about the club, Daniele’s regional Italian cooking and partner wine_time_with_ferdy ‘s stellar wine pairings in the column on Monday.

Daniele’s rib-eye with demi-glace and what he calls Italian garlic chili crisp. I don’t know that I’ve had a better steak at an actual steakhouse in recent memory.

By the time dessert arrived, I swore I couldn’t eat another bite, but bakingwithish ‘s pistachio tart disappeared quickly. Here he is plating dessert with an assist from chefmasonroyal . More on this limoncello-soaked wonder in the column.
