After eight years of full-time travel content creation, I took a much-needed break from social media.

Burnout seems only natural after that long - I was a bit overdue. It was refreshing to take some space and rethink my goals/direction.

Grateful to everyone who’s supported the YouTube channel over the years - whether by watching, commenting, or just dropping in every now and then.

I’ll be sharing the rest of my stories from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Poland - along with something that might be useful to those wanting to get started with YouTube or travel content creation.

In the land of the Mongols
Сайн уу Монгол минь 🇲🇳

Mongolia has long fascinated me with its nomadic culture and vast open steppes, this nation of legendary tales has undoubtedly left its mark on the world.

Once the largest continuous land empire in history following the relentless conquests of the man behind me (Genghis Khan), the modern day nation is home to just 3 million people in 2023, sandwiched between two bigger brothers.

I’m touring the country with sunpathmongolia for 9 days after finishing a little roam around its interesting capital, Ulaanbaatar. 2023-10-08 19:00:47 I.. 1,518 +8% 33 +14%
Thailand เมืองไทย 🇹🇭

A country that until 2023, I had only visited once (I spent 4 days in Bangkok in 2018). That first entry came at the end of a long trip around South East Asia, and by the time I reached its bustling capital from Cambodia, I was pretty burned out. I headed home, promising myself I’d revisit ‘The Land of Smiles’ and see it properly.

This year I’ve done just that. The first picture is a dramatic temple view from my Bangkok balcony at night. Outside the big city, I wanted to experience where the real Thailand lies: in its slow train journeys, in the countryside flavours of fresh coconut and lemongrass, swimming in waterfalls and paying visits to remote temples and historic sites.

A bucket list item I was excited to tick off being the Bridge on the River Kwai (pictures 2 & 3). I watched the multi-award winning war film numerous times during my childhood (a favourite of both my Dad and Grandad). It was surreal to be there and walk across its rickety track, with the serene river flowing beneath and its tropical surroundings chirping away. The darker part of its history is that more than 90,000 Asian civilians died building the Burma Death Railway, along with 16,000 Prisoners of War.

More to come from Thailand.

A few pictures from my third trip to India 🇮🇳

Slightly overdue - it’s been a while since my last IG post. There’s no real reason as to why I haven’t published anything to my feed for a while, other than life just getting busy and other things taking priority. Sometimes you need a break from certain platforms and I think this has been the case with Instagram (I’ve still been uploading videos to my YouTube channel).

I’ve actually been on the road since February - a lot of travelling already this year. I’ve got a stack of vlogs lined up for YouTube, and plenty of stories/posts from Asia to release on here over the next month or so.

To recap, I’d say my third visit to India was a success. Being in the south for the first time, I ticked off three new states: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. This was alongside celebrating Holi festival, seeing Hampi (which was top of my India bucket list), meeting up with fellow YouTuber and travel vlogger gabrieltraveler and our friend boguslaw.szedny, soaking in the colourful and laid back east coast in Pondicherry, tasting proper South Indian breakfasts in Bangalore, admiring incredible carvings at Mahabalipuram, experiencing first class on an Indian train, and walking barefoot in Mysore’s historic palace. There’s still a great deal more for me to see in India and I know I’ll be back again. You can find the full series of videos from this year’s India trip over on my YT channel, the link is in my bio. 2023-05-23 15:38:43 .. 711 -49% 12 -58%
Namaste from India! 🇮🇳

This is a third visit to one of my favourite countries and my first time exploring the south.

If you’ve been following my YouTube channel you’ll know that I’ve uploaded two videos from this India trip already. Landing, and then wandering the busy streets of Bengaluru (formerly known as Bangalore), before showing my experience taking a train to Mysuru (formerly known as Mysore).

This picture was taken at otherworldly Hampi, where I headed after Mysore. As you can imagine, lots of content to come both here on Instagram and over on YouTube. Stay tuned.

Doha, Qatar 🇶🇦

I’ve transferred flights in the impressive Hamad Airport several times over the last few years, but never gave myself the opportunity to leave the building and explore.

So this time I spent a couple of days wandering around post World Cup Doha, walking along the 7km long corniche and soaking in the views of distant skyscrapers, as well as paying a visit to the modern-feeling Souq Waqif, and tasting the national dish, Majboos.

Bonjour Paris 🇫🇷

Despite being on my doorstep (and visiting France four times), I somehow managed to go through the first 27 years of my life without visiting Paris.

I began 2023 with plans to change that, alongside seeing Messi play live (at PSG) before he retires - my favourite footballer of all-time.

I took the Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Gare du Nord, ticking off another travel goal of mine in the process. I did it relative style, sipping Chardonnay in Standard Premier Class, which is a big jump in quality yet only £52 more expensive than Standard Class.

I filmed a small series of vlogs in Paris, starting with my experience taking the Eurostar, showing off my balcony with Eiffel Tower views at hotelmoderniste, eating snails, and seeing Messi score in front of me. That first one is now up on my YouTube Channel. The next one is a full tour wandering around Paris’ main landmarks. 2023-02-03 00:47:17 Bonjour Paris 🇫🇷.. 1,948 +39% 66 +129%
View from a remote Riad overlooking the village of Tamdakhte, an old Ksar in the High Atlas with a beautifully ruined Kasbah.

This is one of the spots on my Morocco trip that I lost footage from. Not far down the road is the UNESCO listed Ksar of Aït Benhaddou. I preferred to stay here and soak in a more authentic feeling of the area.

Slide to the end to see the calming scene of the early morning down by the oasis at the bottom of the hill. The colours of the sunrise lighting up the red mud-brick buildings, with bright green vegetation and the sound of birds and running water, made it one of the most memorable parts of my trip. 2023-01-05 20:45:07 View from a remote Riad .. 1,042 -26% 15 -48%
With war ongoing in Europe, it’s hard to write a post summarising 2022 without first acknowledging what’s currently happening in Ukraine. Even while I’m writing this, missiles are being dropped. I pray that next year brings about peace, and that we enter 2023 with a brighter world on the horizon.

Here’s a bunch of sentences of some stuff I did this year.

Saw a game at Old Trafford. Rode a local Mutatu in Nairobi. Fed giraffes. Went on my first safari and saw lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hippos, wildebeest, hyenas, zebras, crocodiles and more in the wild. Savoured quiet mornings by the water in Mombassa. Threatened with arrest at an African land border. Stayed on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Danced with Dr Coffee (and roasted my own). Lived like a Sultan in Stone Town, Zanzibar. Swam in the turquoise Indian Ocean. Spent two days running around the 2020 Expo in Dubai. Went home to celebrate my Grandmas 90th birthday. Exchanged currency on the black market in Lebanon. Walked across the UN buffer zone between Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Stared at The Last Supper in Milan. Spent Dad’s 70th in Sicily with family. Ate exotic fruits and raw cacao with villagers in the Dominican Republic. Devoured Belgian waffles in Brussels. Gazed at the full moon in Taiwan. Death of the Queen. Experienced my first earthquake. Experienced several more. Read a bunch of classic books. Revisited the Philippines. Ate Durian again. Saw my favourite artist perform live in Amsterdam. Braved some snail broth in Marrakesh. Lost my GoPro. Went back to Taiwan. Watched Messi win the World Cup. Ate a Mos Burger. 2022-12-31 21:02:02 With war ongoin.. 1,034 -26% 46 +60%
Morocco! 🇲🇦

It’s my first time in this incredible North African country. Some will tell you that Marrakesh is a little touristy, but I found it to be such a captivating place, one that still retains a great amount of history and charm.

Snaking your way through the colourful medina and stepping out into Jemaa el-Fna (the lively main square) for the first time is a moment few will forget. It has everything from snake charmers and peacocks, to storytellers and African drummers. But it’s after nightfall when this beating heart of Marrakesh really comes alive.

The whole place erupts with an energy and vibrancy, and temporary food stalls set up shop for the night’s business. I tried the snail broth along with a spicy local tea named Khoudenjal.

Don’t miss some of the other areas of Marrakesh, like the Kasbah (to the south), where you’ll discover old Saadian tombs and palaces. Make sure to pick a cool Riad to stay in too (I recommend Riad Alnadine or Riad Doby).

Manila! 🇵🇭

It’s my second time in the Philippines and in this enormous, densely populated city.

Manila always strikes me as a place of contrasts: bustling neighbourhoods and markets overflowing with fresh fruits & vegetables, where children play basketball in the streets, contrasting starkly with tall glitzy skyscrapers & humongous shopping malls. I love it though, and a stay here is always an adventure.

I flew here after visiting Taiwan, in order to ship some videos out to my channel after a pause in uploads. Apologies for that (if you were wondering where I disappeared to). I’ve already uploaded the first two videos (Manila & Davao) onto my YouTube channel, explaining the reason for the break, and giving you a little insight into where the next few videos will be from. 2022-11-16 17:42:55 Manila! 🇵🇭 It’.. 770 -45% 19 -34%
A rainy and misty night in Jioufen, a historic and picturesque town located in the hills outside of Taipei.

Despite being unlucky with the weather, the reflections of light on the puddles and thick clouds sort of added to the autumn atmosphere.

Its pretty red lanterns and quaint teahouses overlooking seaviews often draw comparisons with the setting of Spirited Away.

It’s easy to get here from Taipei by bus. The trip takes just 80 minutes and you’ll leave feeling impressed by its little lanes and small shops. 2022-10-19 18:18:44 A rainy and misty nig.. 1,046 -25% 27 -6%
