- If you want to treat yourself to some delicious French pastries, then you have to visit Glendale’s latest new French pastry shop, coolbitespatisserie which opened this past April. The spotless shiny cases are filled with gorgeous desserts. I tried a variety of pastries from an earl grey eclair to a Paris Brest, to lemon curd tart and all were fantastic. Head chef and co-owner Anita Aykazyan along with her sister Natalia Haykazyan are creating these amazing treats so if you are looking for a fancy dessert place or want to impress your friends when throwing a dinner party, then you have to check this place out!!
- aurora.los.angeles off of La Brea has some of the most beautiful pastries and tastiest desserts. This French bakery is soon to be celebrating their one year anniversary in Los Angeles and owner Kay Kara has a lot to celebrate from catering special events to celebrity clientele all clamoring for a taste of their fabulous desserts. And don’t get me started on how good their hand painted chocolates are. I also was a fan of their savory items like their spinach and feta or leek and cream pastries. You can wrong with either sweet or savory. Bon appetit!!
- Am I thinking about turning another year older or am I thinking about where I should eat out next? It’s probably a little bit of both to be honest. Over Labor Day weekend, I enjoyed a birthday dinner at sunday.gravy, a place that’s been on my list for a long time and I figured my birthday was finally a good reason to check them out. This old school red sauce Italian place is actually run by a brother and sister duo Sol and Ghazi Bashirian who took over their father’s Ahmad restaurant, Jino’s Pizza and Deli, a legendary staple in Inglewood for over 42 years. It’s a small space churning out delicious Italian comfort food at its finest. This is what we ordered: 1) Chicken milanese 2) Crab mafaldine 3) Lasagna Al forno 4) Cheesy garlic bread 5) Beef bolognese 6) Caesar salad My favorites were the crab mafaldine and the chicken Milanese but everything was delicious. Here’s to another year of great eating!
