Did you know America’s OLDEST 4th of July celebration is held in Bristol, Rhode Island?! 😍🇺🇸✨ this will be their 240th year celebrating America’s independence and we enjoyed last year’s so much that we had to share it again if you’re trying to find plans for the 4th this year!! SAVE this post for some recommendations below 👇🏼 📍Location: Bristol, Rhode Island ⭐️ Plan to get there early!! Parade starts at 10:30am and people start setting up as early as 5am! Last year, we were lucky enough to have about a mile walk from where we parked and grabbed a great spot for the parade in the heart of downtown in front of the Bradford-Dimond-Norris House (we got there about 9am!) ⭐️ Allow time to walk around, stop at some of the local shops and cafes for breakfast & coffee - many closed after the parade ended so do this beforehand! We didn’t get to try it but Sunset Cafe looked like a good one! ⭐️ We packed a blanket to lay out for the parade and it worked perfectly for us, you can always bring foldable chairs if you prefer! Just make sure you have something to set up and save your spot right when you get there! ⭐️ Grab a photo with the iconic red, white, & blue painted lines on the road & the flag in the background located on Hope Street! ⭐️ The Parade itself lasted about 2 hours so plan accordingly and allot enough time in your schedule for a long day! ⭐️ You will more than likely have to sit in traffic after a walk back to your vehicle so plan accordingly for this as well or grab some food to let it die down! ⭐️ We grabbed lunch after at The Nest, an Irish Pub downtown. Another recommended spot where the crowds headed to was Thames Waterside Bar and Grill! But there were plenty of good food options all around!
