![I took this 4 years ago. Just a few short months before my life changed in ways I never imagined. I've been having a difficult time with my appearance lately and most of what I miss is showing my smile. People have a hard time understanding and reading my emotions because my physical smile was taken away from me. It's hard to be okay with that. If you know me you know I love to laugh. One thing I want more than anything when my surgeries are done is have somewhat of a smile back. Whatever that means. I don't mean to sadden the mood it's just how I feel and I don't hide my struggles. I was given another chance at life quite literally and I by no means want to waste it by feeling sorry for myself, but I wouldn't be human if I didn't feel sad sometimes. ![Well a little update since it's been a while!
I've been down for the count this week with COVID 🙃 started as a sore throat and I thought it was allergies but thankfully I didn't get near anyone and didn't let anyone near me! Got checked out and they tested for strep and COVID. Strep was negative and COVID was obviously positive:/ but I have the best little nurse but my side! Thank goodness I don't have to be away from her! Thankful for my parents dropping off medicine and soup for me as well! I'll be okay but I need to definitely rest through the weekend!
If you're wondering what the heck is in my nose it's called a silicone stint and it keeps my nostrils open while the tissue heals inside! I usually just wear them at night but sometimes I'll put it in during the day cause they're not a bother to me :) I missed 2 medical appointments due to being sick so I don't have any medical updates but should be able to see them next week hopefully!

![My new favorite nighttime routine instead of watching too much tv is my Kindle and cozying up with LB 🥰 I wasn't much of a reader but now this kindle has changed me 😂 I think it motivates me to devote time to reading because I don't have any distractions of notifications on a kindle like my phone or other devices do! I am really hoping to stick to this and I am holding myself to it! 💓 If you have any book recommendations, leave them in the comments!]()

![I will take in sunlight as much as I can but doctor said it's very important to not expose skin grafts to the sun for at least 3 months while it's healing...this is gonna be a challenge but I will do everything I can to make sure my body heals the way it needs to and not mess up the work that is being done 😅 the reason is that the skin can shrink and contract and just really possible fail as a surgery overall if too much exposure happens so this isn't anything to mess with 🐅💪]()

![Well this recovery has not been fun but surgery went well. I have 2 appointments coming up. One is with my opthalmologist and one with my main surgeons. This surgery included restitching my right eye, adding a skin graft (yellow gauze) under my eye and the skin was taken from my shoulder/neck (where the white bandage is). The nose sponges are to keep my nostrils open for the moment because they worked on opening my nostrils a bit this time. These are the worst part of my recovery. My eye stitch is a close second but these sponges are rough!! Prayers I won't need them past this week! Thanks for supporting me through the not so fun recovery times 🐅💪]()

![I've caught myself countlesss times in the last 3.5 + years looking at myself in the mirror and immediately sighing and turning away in disbelief. Not accepting the physical part of me. I don't know what has come over me lately but tonight I looked at myself in the mirror and teared up realizing just how much I've been holding back on accepting how much better I look and that I should accept myself now and forever moving forward. Tonight was not a sigh of disbelief, it was finally a sigh of RELIEF! Praise God for all He has protected me through and guiding me into finding the light of acceptance!]()

![I wish I could've captured the moment Luna jumped in my lap and laid on me in the third picture. She did this in response to me watch the videos on the first 2 slides...I kid you not, every single time I watch a video of my girls she is watching it with me and puts her head on me. I don't know if it's an emotion I give off that triggers it but she never fails to be there for me when I am looking at my angels.
