- Worth the hype? I was genuinely excited to check out this new bakery—their second West London spot. I arrived around 9:30am (doors open at 7:30!) and was surprised to find the pastry shelves already cleared. About half an hour later, three trays appeared, though not with the classics I’d hoped for—no croissants or the much-talked-about bow pastry. Instead, I tried the Everything Bagel with cream cheese filling and the Yuzu Meringue pastry. At £14.50 for two pastries, it did feel a little on the steep side. I love supporting female-run and independent businesses, and I know quality ingredients, rent and staff all add up. Still, prices like £7.50 for a (small) sausage roll or £8.50 for soda bread gave me pause. That said, the space was buzzing—clearly already a hit with the local crowd. I can see it becoming a neighbourhood favourite, even if it might not be for everyone. 📍 Layla, Acton W3 NOT AN INVITE
