“Next time you’re going to cry on the internet, can you give us notice so we can grab the popcorn?” That’s what one of my friends said after my last post & honestly, it made me laugh when I needed it most. For the record, I didn’t but I guess you could see the weight of it written all over my face. It’s been a while since then, and beyond the private messages I sent to those who reached out, I’ve been meaning to say something here too. That post got a reaction I wasn’t expecting. A lot of love. A lot of concern. And, because my friends know me too well, a fair bit of clowning about the whole thing. 😂 I’ve realised that’s okay. For most of my career I’ve led with the polished version of myself, but I’ve also never been a stranger to sharing the most authentic parts of me when it mattered. Being respected doesn’t mean being untouchable. As I mentioned in that last post, I was taking time to finish the album. And now it’s done. I can’t explain the joy of listening to the final master, knowing the work was complete. Once I stepped back, my body told me to pause completely. Instinctively I knew I needed to recharge and take stock before stepping forward with this new body of work. In that process of resting and letting go of the things I couldn’t control, I started to find myself again. Not the version buried in deadlines and logistics, but the version who still has a sense of humour and doesn’t overthink everything. I’m okay. A little lighter, a little wiser, and still laughing at myself. The messages from people who said things like “We’ll wait” or “We believe in what you’re doing” meant so much. They reminded me that honesty does not weaken the work, it deepens it. So this video is me finding some lightness in that moment. The way my closest friends would: checking in, but also clowning me when I needed it most. It reminded me how lucky I am to have people who allow me to be both strong and vulnerable. Important news about my London show. Hi everyone, I’ve got an important update about my London show. After a lot of thought and conversations with my team and the promoter, we’ve decided to move the show originally planned for September 18, 2025 to a new date: Thursday 7th May, 2026. I know many of you have been planning around this and supporting quietly in the background. I want to say from the heart that I see that, and I appreciate it more than I can say. This upcoming album is being made in a completely different way than anything I’ve done before. It’s being created independently, without a label, without safety nets, but with love in every note. It’s a journey of creative freedom, honesty and deep intention. The truth is, this decision hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced really tough challenges throughout this rollout. Many of them I’ve worked hard to overcome quietly behind the scenes. But this part, delaying the live show, has been the hardest of all. Every part of me wanted to push through the production issues and deliver some version of the show that was and the new one I envisioned. But I had to stop and really think about what kind of experience you deserve, and what this album is asking of me in return. This is not something I chose quickly or lightly. But in order to give you the show you truly deserve, something that reflects the heart of this album and everything we’ve promised, I need a little more time to build it with the care, intention and creativity it calls for. Before the production, before the polish — this is how See The Light was born Sometimes the most honest things happen when we stop trying to make them perfect. I’ve spent so much time obsessing over getting things right. The perfect frame, the perfect note, the perfect production, the perfect song. I mean, I even spent nearly 10mins trying to pull a thumbnail frame from this poorly framed video. But this is different. What you’re hearing is the very first time I recorded this song. Just me, a guitar, and a single take in a room. Captured before I went away, almost as a way of documenting the moment it came to life. It’s raw. It’s not cropped perfectly. It doesn’t look expensive. But it felt honest. And for once, that felt like enough. Perfectionism has followed me most of my life. I’ve spent hours tweaking things, only to feel defeated if the response didn’t match the effort. Sometimes I forget why I even make music, or why I love art, because the world keeps telling us to only show the best, most flawless moments. And yet even when I’ve come close to what I thought was perfect, I still struggled to feel content. So what’s the point of chasing it if it keeps pulling me further from joy? This was the last thing I recorded before heading to one of the most remote places on Earth. No notifications. No pressure. Just stillness. And somewhere in that quiet, I started letting go of the chase. I’m not sure I need it anymore. I still need to express myself. That hasn’t changed. But I’m learning I might not need the validation that comes with it. That’s a scary thing to admit, because in many ways it’s all I’ve known. Maybe it’s what we’re all taught to want… to be somebody. Have you ever felt that too? That quiet pull between expressing something honestly and wondering if it’s only worth it if someone claps for it? These days, I’m becoming okay with just being someone who writes songs. And that’s starting to feel like enough. I hope that makes sense. And I hope you enjoy this stripped-back version. This year marks 10 years since I released my first song, Fast Lane. Since then, it’s spanned multiple EPs, an album, and so many moments that have shaped my life—both as an artist and as a songwriter.
