![Just in case you’re one of the people following me that doesn’t know me as a yoga instructor—let me reintroduce myself.
I got my first teaching certification in 2013. Took one candlelit yoga class in March of that year said “THIS IS FOR ME!” and dove right in. 650 hours of training later…teaching is always going to be a part of my life in come capacity, even if there have been moments where I’ve taken steps back from it.
Do I know everything about teaching? Nope. Has the kind of yoga we practice in America been whitewashed and watered down? Yep. Do I do my best regardless of those facts? Sure do!
We live in a society and a time that glorifies the hustle. Burnout equates success. The busier you are, the better. And I haaaaaaaaaate it. [Insert long rant about the evils of capitalism]
It is important to me that every time a student steps onto their mat in one of my classes that they have a moment to untangle that way of thinking in their brain. To breathe, to slow down, to take a fucking second and not worry about what’s coming immediately after class.
If I can help you find a greater sense of ease in the way you move through your day, I’ve done my job. And hopefully we’ll have some fun along the way.
