🇿🇲 Would you spend a night sleeping under the stars with the hippos at your doorstep and lions roaring nearby? 🦛🦁

This was one of our most memorable experiences in our trip to Zambia, just outside of the South Luangwa National Park, on the banks of the Luangwa river. ⛺️

Our luxury tent featured a huge bed with mosquito net, an open bathroom with 2 showers including an open air one, a large terrace overlooking the river and a skybed in a treehouse where we could sleep under the stars and the most amazing view of the Milky Way 🤩

There are only 5 tents in the entire camp, and a few staff, so you really feel like you’re away from the world and close to nature.

Safari drives are included in the stay, but you don’t need to drive far, as we the camp was visited by elephants, hippos, gazelles and giant lizards. At night we woke up to the sound of the roaring lions in the bushes nearby 🦁

We spend the evenings by the camp fire listening to stories from the camp manager krugertheuns who joined us for dinner every evening.

It’s not easily accessible but once you arrive at the kafuntasafaris Three Rivers Lodge, you won’t want to leave!

Share this with someone you would spend a night here with! 🙌

🇿🇲 This has to be one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had 😍

Kafunta River Lodge is just outside South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. However, you don’t even need to leave the lodge to see wildlife, as there’s so much diversity of animals and birds just outside the room! 🐘

Imagine waking up to see elephants strolling by or sleeping with hippos beside your lodge 🦛

If you love animals and want to be close to them without invading their space, just sit back on the porch and watch the wildlife spectacle unfold in front of you!

🇫🇷Provence is not only lavander fields!
Driving through the jaw-dropping Gorges Du Verdon was actually the highlight of our trip to Provence.
From towering cliffs to crystal-clear waters, every turn was a breathtaking view. ⛰️
The best way to see the gorges if you don’t want to hike is to take the loop road called Route des Cretes. It’s a panoramic 24km route that has 14 Belvedere or lookout points over the gorges.
If you’re looking for a road trip that will leave you speechless, this is it!

Here are 5 things to know before driving the Route des Crêtes:

1.	Narrow, Winding Roads⚠️The Route des Crêtes is known for its steep, narrow roads and sharp hairpin turns. Be prepared for slow driving and stay cautious, especially around blind corners. The roads are ok even for low vehicles and we saw many cyclists and motorcycles as well.

2.	Breathtaking Views 🤩 The panoramic vistas are absolutely stunning, with views over the Verdon Gorge and surrounding cliffs. Plan for multiple stops at lookout points to take it all in.

3.	Limited Facilities 🚗There are few services or amenities along the route, so ensure your vehicle is fueled, and pack water, snacks, and any essentials before starting the drive.

4.	Weather Considerations ⛈️The route can be affected by weather conditions. It’s best to check forecasts and avoid foggy or rainy days, as visibility can become limited and the roads more dangerous.

5.	Wildlife Sightings 🦅Keep an eye out for wildlife, especially birds of prey like eagles and vultures, which are often spotted soaring above the cliffs. One of them almost snatched our drone 🫣

Who else has explored these incredible routes or has them on their bucket list? 😃

🇫🇷 Don’t miss this hidden gem of Provence, one of the most picturesque villages in France: Moustiers-Sainte-Marie! 🌟

This charming village is a must-visit for anyone exploring the region, offering an authentic taste of Provençal beauty.

Wander through picturesque, cobblestone streets filled with history and charm and shop for handcrafted lavender products, like soaps, perfumes and even ice-cream, along with other local goods in the village’s quaint artisan shops. 🪻

And don’t miss out on visiting the chapel perched above the village - it’s a 15 minute walk up stone steps, and you’ll get gorgeous views of the village and the valley. ⛪️

Make sure to watch out for the golden star hung between two cliffs - nobody knows how it initially got there, but it’s been hanging above the village for hundreds of years! ⭐️

Have you been to Moustier? If not, make sure this magical spot is on your travel list! 🇫🇷

🇫🇷This French castle in Provence may not be on your radar, but if you time your visit right, it will be worth your detour from the more popular Valensole town and lavender fields everyone comes to see in Provence.

The Chateau d’Allemagne en Provence is one of the most well preserved castles in Provence and it’s only 20 minutes drive from Valensole.

It was built by the family of Castellane family in the 13th century. Nowadays, it is still inhabited and is a private residence, so visits are allowed only once a day on certain days of the week (Fridays to Mondays) in a guided tour at 4pm.

The tour costs 10€ pp and is done in French. It lasts about an hour and you’ll visit the main part of the castle. Some rooms are off limits of course since they are lived in. But we liked the intimate atmosphere of the castle, unlike the usual museum ones.

There is a rich collection of ceramics from Monaco and other collection items throughout the rooms, and even a car collection in the garden.

Would you like to visit it?

🇫🇷 Who else wishes it would be so easy to jump to Provence in a blooming lavander field?

We flew to Nice, France and drove all the way to Valensole, the center of the lavander fields.

It is quite easy to find using Google Maps, you just need to aim at the route de digne - D8 just outside the city and stop at the field you like the most.

Timing the blooming of the lavander is the hard part as it depends on the amount of rain and temperature registered in spring!

🇨🇷 Ready for an adventure like no other? Discover Selvatura Park in Monteverde, Costa Rica, where lush cloud forests meet exhilarating zip lines and serene hanging bridges. 🦜✨

From soaring above the canopy to spotting vibrant wildlife, selvaturapark offers a unique experience for every nature lover.

We started the day with the canopy tour, zip lining above and through the cloud forest on 13 ziplines, the last of which was 1km long!

We then explored the hanging bridges and wildlife, seeing the trees from above the canopy. 🌳

Then we headed to the guided tours of the reptile and butterfly gardens. 🦋🐍

🇨🇷 Why you have to add Arenal - La Fortuna to your next trip to Costa Rica (save this post for later) 📍

Just 3 hours drive from San Jose, the Arenal Volcano area is one of the most popular places in Costa Rica for adventure seekers and nature lovers ⛰️

Base yourself in La Fortuna and make sure you don’t miss these must-do activities:

1. Swim in the La Fortuna Waterfall - walk down the 500 steps and take a dip in the refreshing pool
2. Cross the hanging bridges across the rainforest canopy in misticopark and watch out for the abundant wildlife
3. Relax in one of the many hot springs with a day pass or stay in a resort with private hot spring pools like arenalmanoa
4. Hike up the iconic Arenal volcano, which dominates the skyline
5. Go white water rafting on different grade rapids. We went with desafiocr on the Balsa river which had the right balance between rowing and floating

✈️ Top 3 mistakes we did when travelling that you can avoid (📍save this reel):

1️⃣ Not doing your research: we usually plan trips in advance but for Costa Rica we left it quite last minute and didn’t have time to do proper research. We ended up booking everything through a local travel agency that cost us way more than if we had booked everything ourselves. Make sure to check review sites like Tripadvisor, Google Reviews and travel blogs when choosing activities, hotels and attractions. Plan well in advance to get better rates and availability. 💸

2️⃣ Not packing adequately: even after many years of travels, we still sometimes overpack or forget to bring things we may need. Always check the expected weather forecast and come prepared for better and worse than predicted. Have a checklist with things you need to bring on the trip and cross it off when packing to not forget anything. Make sure you know your luggage allowance as each airline is different. We ended up paying for extra kilos on our airline as we exceeded the limit 🙈

3️⃣ Not getting travel insurance: travel can be unpredictable and it’s best to be prepared in case of unpleasant circumstances like flight cancellations, baggage loss, or medical emergencies. While many countries don’t make insurance mandatory for travellers, you should never travel without one.

What other mistakes have you done when travelling?

🇵🇦 Have you heard of the San Blas Islands in Panama?
If not, make sure to save this reel and add the location to your next travel plans! 🏝️

The stunning San Blas Islands, part of the Kuna Yala territory are located off the coast of Panama in the Caribbean Sea, and was one of the highlights of our trip😍
The archipelago is made up of 365 pristine islands with white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, all carefully preserved by the indigenous Kuna people.

From snorkeling around a shipwreck, dancing in a natural pool on a submerged sandbank, to lounging on secluded beaches, every moment is pure magic ✨

To get here, you need to take an organized trip as the Kuna people control the islands. It’s a 4h drive from Panama City, followed by half an hour by boat. Each tour takes you to 2-3 different islands and includes lunch made by the locals. You can also take a scenic flight from Panama City but it’s more expensive.

If you’re looking for an off the grid tropical vacation, you can also spend the night on some of the islands in beach shacks - with limited facilities and amenities though.
Whatever you choose, make sure you don’t miss it if you’re in Panama 🙌

🇵🇦 Add this location to your Panama trip! 📍(save this for later)

Isla Contadora is part of Las Perlas Islands in the Pacific Ocean, just an hour and a half ferry boat ride from Panama City.

The islands are famous for being the backdrop of TV shows like Bear Grylls and Survivor.

You can visit it on a day trip by taking the ferry which departs early morning from Amador and returns in the afternoon, or you can spend a night or few in some of the resorts.

The best way to explore it on a day trip is by renting a club cart so you can beach hop across the island. Make sure to stop by at Playa Executiva and Playa Larga. There is also a nudist beach secluded in the coves.

When we visited there were very few people on the island and we were alone on some of the beaches so you really feel like you are on a deserted island 🏝️

🇵🇦 What is the place you've been wanting to visit but always seems too far away?✈️

We've been putting off travelling to the Americas because we thought it's too far, flights are too long, we need more time, there's jetlag etc. But these are just excuses and at the end of the day, the thrills of visiting a new continent far outweight the inconvenience of the 24h journey to get here from Dubai.

Yes, we are jetlagged and tired, but we are excited to discover new countries and have been exploring all the beauty Panama has to offer 🤩

🇳🇴 Is it just us, or did this winter fly past us in the blink of an eye?🫣

While many people around the world are tuning their clocks tonight for summer time, we wish we could turn back the time to be in this winter wonderland in Norway❄️

The Snowhotel in Kirkeness stole our hearts! It is a little gem covered in snow, nested where the taiga forest starts.

Seeing it from above, you can appreciate the beauty of the surrounding fjord and mountains.

This is the perfect place to reconnect with nature, while exploring the life in the Arctic.

The good news is you can still visit this place in the summer, since snowhotelkirkenes is the only snow hotel in the world open 365 days a year!

🇳🇴 Would you spend a night sleeping in an ice hotel at -4 degrees? ❄️🥶

We did, and lived to tell about it 😃 snowhotelkirkenes in Norway is the only snow hotel in the world that is open all year round, so you can even visit it in summer.

We slept in the first room called Fireplace - there is no actual fire, of course, but the thought of it warmed us up at least.

The beds are made of ice, with a mattress and some fur blankets on top. Don’t worry about freezing though, warm sleeping bags are provided.

Before spending the night, you get a tour of the hotel and a demonstration on how to use the sleeping bag to keep yourself warm throughout the night. You’ll also get a bed sheet, woolen socks and a balaclava. You will only need to wear warm thermals as the sleeping bag is enough for -32 degrees. We were actually quite warm throughout the night, aside from our nose that was breathing in the cold air.❄️

We managed to sleep through the night and tick this off our bucket list 👍
