![Our current home away from home in Woodstock, thewoodstockchurch, a former church turned rental home with red doors, stained-glass windows, and all the cozy autumn light you could dream of… There’s something very peaceful about mornings here—the creak of the old wood floors, morning light streaming in colorful glass windows, leaves falling just outside and deers grazing and running through the forest right behind the house, such a magical and majestic sight to wake up to…
It’s honestly one of the most unique and interesting places we’ve ever stayed—full of character, charm, and quiet beauty. Perfectly located too, just a short drive to both Woodstock and Kingston, both my favorite towns. Would you stay here?]()

![Our first-ever apple picking sesh! We waited until David was old enough to really enjoy it—and we had such a great time wandering through stoneridgeorchard. David was way more excited about spotting tractors and feeding the sheep than actually picking apples (of course 😆). And we ended the day with a fresh apple pie from their shop, my favorite pie.
If you’ve never been apple picking before, this is such a fun thing to do, especially with young kids. The crisp air, the trees heavy with apples, the smell of cider and pies in the shop… it’s pure, classic, fall magic. Definitely a must-do for any fall trip upstate! 🍁🍂]()

![Back at one of our favorite upstate spots, roughdraftny in Kingston. This is our fifth visit (and counting), and we always, always order their Drink of the Month and their savory pies (the chicken curry and Vietnamese beef are our go-tos!).
Absolutely love their corner building, with sunlight spilling through those big windows and people tucked away with books and laptops—it’s cozy, charming and familiar. We seem to always start our upstate NY trip here, and at this point, it’s starting to feel like a little tradition we’ve made for ourselves.]()

![New coffeeshop in SoHo to check out! ansacoffeenyc in SoHo, is where every cup starts with a roast right here in the café. They’re a micro roastery with their own patent-pending technology, roasting small batches on site so the beans are super fresh. I also tried their nitro matcha and nitro coffee and I love the velvety smooth and creamy texture. And don’t sleep on their caffe crema, which is like coffee soft serve—it’s airy, fluffy, just sweet enough, and honestly the dreamiest way to end a coffee run!]()

Tucked away on Songwat Road, beans.bkk feels like a hidden pocket of old Bangkok charm—unfinished walls, sacks of beans, weathered leather chairs, bold coffee and a vibe that is the perfect mix of cozy, comforting and incredibly industrial chic. I highly recommend starting here if you’re planning to explore Songwat Rd, which in my opinion, is a must! It’s all in my Bangkok + Khon Kaen itinerary I’ve put together ☺️

![A little slice of London in the Upper East Side. birleybakery recently opened its first US outpost this summer, and it’s already a dream spot for carb lovers. Think artisanal sourdoughs, buttery croissants, glossy pastries, decadent cakes, and even handmade chocolates + ice cream. The red storefront is picture-perfect, the upstairs café is cozy and elegant, and everything feels straight out of a French boulangerie. ![From our little Paris trip in summer… we went to lacremedeparis.officiel in Jardin du Palais Royal for waffles only to find out this location doesn’t have them 😭 But David insisted on staying—apparently his trucks “needed to play in the sand.” So we settled in for lunch, sans waffles but it was still lovely, while I watched my boy happily playing in the dirt. Double tears… but I guess that’s just life with a 3 year old boy and his trucks!]()

![We missed this one—Redfarm in West Village is open again after a big fire and years of closure and it feels like a small victory for the neighborhood. We used to come here all the time for dinner and after more than 2 years of closure, they have rebuilt and reopened, now for dinner everyday + brunch on weekends in a warm and cozy setting. ![I didn't bookmark cortado.paris, but it was a Spanish-influenced coffeeshop we stumbled on in Marais, and when I saw Pan Con Tomate on the menu, I knew we had to do breakfast here! I love their super fun branding, their rustic, minimalist space and warm, casual vibes. Even the outside facade was serving me Madrid in Paris looks... and FYl, they also have Cantina Cortado a few doors down, serving tapas and natural wines. ![Random post but I just realized conwellcoffeehall in Wall Street is actually the fictional bank from the movie Inside Man (with Clive Owen, Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster etc)! I’ve watched the movie a few times but only caught this detail while rewatching on my HK → NY flight. How wild is that?! The space still has that cinematic, old-world bank feel—ornate chandeliers, marble details, tall ceilings, and moody lighting that makes it feel straight out of a movie set. ![When the shop’s closed but the outside is this photogenic! Only in Bangkok do you “miss the chocolate” but still leave with something to photograph. 32bar_x was closed when we went, but now I have the perfect excuse to go back. A crumbling brick wall, peeling paint, and an old rusting Fiat turned into the perfect backdrop for photos, blending old-world charm with urban character, highlighting the café’s unique setting as a hidden chocolate spot. Next time, I’m coming back for the chocolate (and maybe another round of photos too).

One of the best breakfasts from our Thailand trip was at gimmick.alldaybreakfast in Khon Kaen. It was early (7:30am—yes, we were still pretty jet-lagged), the table was full, and of course we didn’t hold back. Dim sum, fried rice, fried chicken, eggs, iced drinks! And we basically cleared every plate with zero regrets. Honestly, when the breakfast (my favorite meal of the day!) is this good, it’s such a great way to start the day. ![Song Wat wasn’t on our original list, but that’s the beauty of travel—the best things are often the ones you stumble on. We struck up a conversation with a stranger at a coffeeshop nearby, and she told us to check it out. We followed her tip, and wow, she wasn’t wrong. Song Wat has that mix of old-school Bangkok charm with a new wave of cool cafés, cute boutiques, and charming corners that feel instantly photogenic.
We only managed a quick wander (we were flying back in a few hours) but it was enough to fall in love with the vibe. Honestly, this neighborhood deserves at least half a day if you want to explore properly, grab a few coffees, and pop into the shops at a slower pace. I left feeling equal parts grateful for the lucky find and bummed that we didn’t have more time. Next time, Song Wat gets a spot at the top of the list.
