![Thank you for the absolutely bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated and cheered on Wisconsin these last couple of days. I’m thrilled to report that she has been discharged from the hospital!! She’s still on a full regimen of antibiotics to continue treating her pneumonia, but she no longer needs to be hospitalized. Just seeing her on the drive home compared to the drive to the hospital was a completely different cat. She’s herself again! We truly couldn’t have done this without your support so again, thank you from me and all of our state colony kitties.]()

![Well, when you rescue more than 40 cats in a week, I suppose it can’t come without at least one complication. Our sweet Wisconsin started feeling crummy shortly after her spay surgery, and it progressively got worse as the week went on. She become lethargic and completely stopped eating. When I brought her to the ER last night she had a fever of 104.5, and the ultrasound showed B-lines in her lungs, indicating she might have pneumonia. When handling she would wince and we could tell she was in pain, so to make sure there wasn’t anything else going on, CT scan was ordered to get a fuller look at her body. The CT confirmed she does have pneumonia, likely a complication from being intubated during spay. And thankfully nothing more serious in addition to this. This bill was much more than I was anticipating, but I couldn’t say no to making sure that Wisconsin received the best possible care. She’s currently stable and beginning to improve on a course of IV antibiotics, and we’re optimistic for her prognosis. If anyone is able to donate to her care it would mean the world to us, my PayPal and Venmo are linked in my bio. ![NYC is in a cat crisis. There is no Department of Animal Welfare and no budget to address the problem, so it falls on private citizens to address rapidly reproducing feral cats and abandoned pet cats that have not been spayed or neutered. We need city-funded spay/neuter programs so that we can reduce the number of cats suffering on the streets, or in our overcrowded shelters.
The aspca offers the only free spay and neuter rescuers can access in NYC, and we are tremendously grateful for them, along with flatbushvet and bbawcrescueclinic for offering low cost services. But we need more, and we need our city to step up. Please contact your local council member and tell them that New Yorkers need a Department of Animal Welfare and city funded spay and neuter! ![Formally welcoming to the VIP life, hold out boy Fluffer Nutter, followed by Rice Krispies, Whoopie Pie, Peeps, and last but not least, Coconut Cream, who was TOO feral for a dangle photo!! ![The last 48 hours I’ve finally been able to breathe a sigh of relief that our remaining nursery rhyme kittens are out of the woods. So I thought it was past time to formally introduce them! A huge thank you to everyone who donated in honor of their 5 siblings who are no longer with us. For those who missed our previous posts, this crew of 10 kittens came to me with the most aggressive panleuk I’ve ever had in my rescue career, and despite our best efforts, half of them did not make it. But these 5 are fighters! Now if only they would like me 😭]()

![When I first posted sharing about our most recent kittens with panleuk, I mentioned that we had another kitten currently hospitalized. That kitten was Mary Had A Little Lamb, a kitten so special and close to my heart. However shortly after recording that video, Mary passed away, after 3 days of hospitalization. This virus is so strong, and so deadly, that the best medical interventions were simply no match. I know there were some questions on my previous video about what was done for these kittens, so please trust that no expense or effort was spared. However even with it, it still wasn’t enough. Mary marks 5 out of 10 kittens passed, and as I type this, a 6th kitten is now rapidly declining. I just want this to be over more than anything. I am still fundraising for these hospital bills. Our total bill for trying to save these 5 kittens was $18,139. If anyone is still able to donate. Please keep me and the remaining kittens in your thoughts. We really need all the love and support right now. I hate that I haven’t been able to move onto happier posts. And I so appreciate you sticking with me through this.]()

![This week has broken me. I can say this has been the hardest of my rescue career.
I’m sorry the end of the video cut off. I’m exhausted and not eloquent right now but the long and short of it is that I’ve spent over $15,000 trying to save these kittens lives. We still have one kitten currently in the hospital who I’ll be sharing more about soon. If you can please support us with a comment, like, or donation it would mean the absolute world. I hate that I have to ask for such dark circumstances.
After just getting over panleuk with Cry Babies siblings I thought it was behind us. A vet this week told me that they’ve seen a lot of it this summer. This is not the same strain as we had before. This strain is bigger and meaner and killing so many kittens. This was only the 3rd litter I took in after my pause and then deep cleaning after Cry Baby’s panleuk. Going through that cleaning process again is daunting and depressing.

![We have the most exciting news to report…. Lovebug is adopted!! I really did not imagine this happening for him so soon. But when j.e.harter applied for him, knowing and understanding that he might never be a normal pooper, (with her own resident cat who’s had health issues affecting his poop), I knew it was meant to be. He still has a journey ahead of him regarding his Atresia Ani Type 1, but I’ll be working with Jill to ensure that Lovebug continues to receive the care he needs. I’m so happy and can’t believe how lucky he is to have found someone to love him just the way he is. I love you Lovebug!! His new name is Freddie Lovebug Purrcury and I think that suits him wonderfully :)]()
