They diagnosed a cracked EGR pipe and will fix asap. Also had a nose around the Jaguar Enthusiast Club paddock at Castle Combe. Full of smiley faces and interesting metal. First up - the 12 Cilindri is a fabulous car. The big-banger, front-mounted V12 Fandango has moved to a silly price point now (this one has £190k of extras), but those that can afford etc. This car is what every Ferrari should be. In a way that many of the company’s other cars aren’t. No hybrid. Eminently usable. Huge road presence. Fast as fook.
Obviously I had to picture it with some REAL motoring royalty. 205 XS and Phase one 106 Rallye. Two of the finest hatches.
There is a problem lurking in that photo though. One of my own making! Can you spot it? Will reveal the answer later!!]()

![Saved myself from making a huge mistake. Hasn’t been used much recently due to life/test cars etc. Last week, using my ‘if it’s not being used it goes’ methodology I thought I’d pop it on carandclassic . Then I spent a long day enjoying the ride, the vast torque and the 40 plus mpg and realised what a mistake that would be. These F30 Alpina D3s are hidden gems. No haptics and lane-assist, speed-warning bullshit, lots of buttons and knobs, Euro 6 emissions and the perfect size for UK roads. It stays.]()
