Sweden has thousands of small farm shops scattered along country roads. Some are just an old fridge with a handwritten sign, while some are simple wooden sheds. Inside, you’ll find everything from homemade jam to grass-fed meat, local honey, eggs and potatoes still covered in soil.

What’s beautiful is that most of them are completely self-service. You write down what you buy in a notebook, pay by phone or leave cash. It’s an old system built entirely on trust. Some of these shops even have a small coffee corner (bring your own cup!), a bench or a view of the fields. Others have grown into bigger farm cafés, where they bake their own bread and pastries using ingredients from the farm.

Whenever I see one, I always stop – it’s part of the joy of riding through Sweden.

Call me superficial… but I’ve always been drawn to motorcycles that look like they have a story to tell. I believe a bike should make you feel something even before you start the engine — and the Bonneville does that for me every time 🥰

Few things inspire me to grab my camera and hit the road like this bike does.

And now, with Colombia getting closer, I really wonder what kind of motorcycle will join me there. I’m so curious to see what stories we’ll create together 🙌🏼

My story didn’t start with perfect plans or sponsors… It started with a dream, a map and the stubborn belief that later might be too late.

When I set off on my very first motorcycle trip, I truly thought it might be the only one I’d ever do the way I dreamed of, with just me, my bike and the open road, with months of time on my hands. That’s why I was (and still am) so thankful for every single kilometer.

But here I am, 8 years later, still sitting with maps spread out, but this time for Colombia 😳

What once felt like a one-time chance has grown into a life and I’m endlessly grateful that I chose to begin when I did! 🙏🏼 Because the hardest part isn’t the kilometers themselves – it’s daring to take that very first step.

I’ve spent most of my riding life hearing that I use the “wrong” motorcycles for the “wrong” adventures… 👀 Scramblers instead of big ADV bikes. Bonnies instead of high-tech explorers. But I’ve always loved proving that motorcycles don’t need to fit a label to take you far. It’s always up to the rider if it’s an adventure bike or not.

That’s why I just had to take the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 onto gravel. On paper, it’s a sport-touring machine. Sharp on pavement, smooth, with 113 eager horses that love to rev. But it surprised me how calmly it handled gravel. The suspension soaked up the bumps, the traction control had my back and all of a sudden this “road bike” was enjoying the dust just as much as I was ☺️

I love bikes with soul and a retro feeling and my classics will always be my home. But the Tiger reminded me that freedom has many forms. Sometimes retro, sometimes sporty, sometimes a mix of both. And for someone like me, who loves it when motorcycles challenge expectations, that’s where the magic happens 🙌🏼

I’ve always known that maintenance charging is good and I knew how to charge a battery when it was low. But honestly, that’s where my knowledge basically stopped 🫣

I’m beyond proud to be partnering up with ctekcharging, I’ve already learned a lot more about how much more there is to it. Regular charging doesn’t just “fill up” a battery, it prevents sulfation, protects capacity and can make it last up to three times longer. That’s a big difference.

Yesterday I installed my new charger, the CT5 Powersport, together with the Indicator Eyelet M6 which makes the whole process super easy. You attach it once to the battery’s terminals with the M6 bolts, route the cable to an easy-to-reach spot (I placed mine under the seat) and from then on you just check the LED: green = ready to ride, yellow or red = time to charge 🚦

It’s such a small detail, but it means my bike is always ready when I am. And I get to keep learning how to better care for my gear along the way 🙏🏼

Some dreams aren’t meant to be checked off – they’re meant to be lived in 🙏🏼

I still remember 2017, leaving for my very first trip, thinking: “This might be my only chance.” I never imagined it would grow into a life built on motorcycles, travel, writing and photography 😳 It hasn’t come easy, it’s been years of dedication, and I know I wouldn’t be here without you. Your support, your interest, your engagement mean more than I can say.

Thank you for helping me live my dream – I’m forever thankful ♥️ 2025-09-24 20:45:00 .. 2,163 -17% 52 +8%
Why riding gives me mental clarity 💭

When I ride, my thoughts don’t wander far. They get simpler, more straight to the point. The road demands focus for traffic, corners, surfaces… and that leaves less room for endless overthinking. Funny enough, that makes it easier to solve problems. Answers that felt complicated before suddenly appear clear when I let them run in the background while riding.

I don’t always ride to move. Sometimes I ride to stop 🧘🏼‍♀️

Some of my favorite moments aren’t when I’m moving, but when I stop. Taking off the helmet and just listening to the birds, the wind in the trees, maybe a train far away or a dog barking. It’s strange how alive silence can feel when you’ve just stepped out of the noise of the engine. Standing still with the bike makes me remember why I ride in the first place.

Funny how silence on the road can feel louder than noise.

Exploring runestones from the Viking Age in my area 🕵🏼‍♀️ It feels a bit surreal to stand in front of something carved a thousand years ago... 👀

Sweden actually has more runestones than any other country in the world, and around 2.500 of them are still standing out in nature for anyone to see. When my friends from Chile visited a while ago, they couldn’t believe there was no ticket booth or a museum wall around them 😅 Runstones and Viking carvings are part of daily life here.

The inscriptions were written in Runic Swedish, the early form of our language. It developed from Old Norse and kept evolving while runes were the main writing system in Scandinavia. The red paint you see on the stones is traditional, making the runes easier to read.

I also found out that the Viking word felagi (means companion), later turned into the English word fellow. In Iceland, people still say félagi, but in Swedish it was replaced by kamrat. So next time you call someone your fellow, you’re speaking with Viking roots 😎

👉 runkartan.se/english – this is how I found the stone in my photo, which isn’t even marked on Google Maps. Finding it felt like a small adventure on its own ☺️

Close to home, far from boring 🥳

Two Triumphs, two completely different rides. I’m starting out on the Tiger and it already feels like a mini adventure in itself to try something new 😄 I’ll be spending the next few weeks exploring my surroundings on it and switching things up with the Bonneville T120 Icon from time to time. Life’s not too complicated at the moment 😅🤭

What do you think, should we go visit some Viking sites and read rune stones along the way? 😁

Golden hour, golden fields 💛

No borders to cross, no wild terrain to conquer… Just a quiet ride through Swedish countryside 🥰

After traveling through 85 countries, I’ve learned that adventure doesn’t always need to be far away. Weird, huh? 😅 Sometimes it’s waiting just outside your door, in places you thought you already knew. Take this road, for example. It has no name in Google Maps, and I stumbled upon it by accident outside of Kimstad in Östergötland 😊

A Tiger and a Bonnie… Not a bad welcome home combo, right? 🙌🏼

I’ve always dreamed of having different bikes for different moods, and now with a Tiger Sport 800 and a Bonneville T120 Icon in the garage, I’m feeling closer to that dream 😁 Thank you, triumphnordic ♥️

After one of the longest and most beautiful rides of my life, I didn’t expect to enjoy slowing down as much as I did. But there’s something healing about coming home. About opening the garage, suiting up again and finding dust of Peru still stuck to my helmet... I went for a ride without a plan, without luggage and it was magic. A new kind of freedom. It feels good to be back 🙏🏼

Home 🙏🏼🇸🇪

After one of the wildest and most beautiful chapters of my life, I’ve spent the past few weeks resting, catching up with family and friends and just breathing 🥰

I believe in movement – but I also believe in stillness. This pause has been healing in ways I didn’t expect. It’s allowed me to look back on everything. I’m still carrying the dust of South America in my boots, the noise of the streets in my ears and the stillness of the mountains in my chest. Now I’m back in Sweden again, with so much to be thankful for. I found peace in the saddle of my beloved Rey, chasing roads I didn’t know how to pronounce.

Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia & Peru – thank you for everything! ♥️

I spent my final days in the warm and cozy town of Puerto Maldonado in the Peruvian Amazon before crossing back into Brazil. There, in Rio Branco, I said goodbye to Rey – shipping her back to São Paulo and her Brazilian family at triumphbr. She’s the heart of this journey and I’ll miss her more than words can say. But she’s home now. And I’ll remember her forever 💛🥰

👉🏼 And now?
This Sunday I’ll be at Gärdesloppet in Stockholm together with triumphnordic – a legendary vintage car event dating back to 1922 (and completely free to attend!) 🏁 I’m super excited to meet you there – come say hi or share a story 😃

… And yes, I’m not done with South America yet 🤭
A new journey is already waiting for me this fall – I’m coming back for more! 😁🌎🏍️

Camping under the Peruvian sky ✨

Travel for me isn’t just about seeing new places — it’s about feeling them. I’ve always been a big believer in that where you choose to rest during your travels shapes the experience just as much as the places you explore.

For my birthday, I stayed in a glass pyramid surrounded by nature, just outside of Ollantaytambo. I was welcomed with a barbecue and a mojito made from local rum, and I spent the night watching the stars through the glass above me.

In the morning, the river outside became the soundtrack to a slow, peaceful start to a new year of life. It’s these small, beautiful moments that make the biggest memories.

Walking through Machu Picchu was everything I hoped for, and more 🙏🏼 It’s one thing to see it from above… but being inside the ruins, surrounded by ancient stone walls, brought the whole place to life. It really took me by surprise how overwhelmed I’d become ☺️

Machu Picchu sits 2,430 meters (7,970 feet) above sea level in the Andes Mountains and was once a thriving Inca city. The site includes over 150 buildings – temples, homes, storage rooms and ceremonial spaces. Wandering through it all felt like stepping into another world.

The Incas built this city without modern tools, yet the stones are so precisely shaped they fit together without any mortar. They call it ashlar masonry, and it’s held strong through earthquakes, centuries of rain and time itself.
I was also told that over half of Machu Picchu is underground and we’ll probably never see it. Its foundations, drainage systems and support structures are hidden beneath the surface.

And just like in Inca times, llamas still roam freely among the ruins 🥰 They’re not only cute but excellent lawn mowers too 😄

I’ll carry this memory with me for a long, long time.

Machu Picchu 🥹 What a dream come true!

The name Machu Picchu means “Old Mountain” in Quechua, a language still spoken by many in Peru today. The Spanish never discovered Machu Picchu during their conquest. It was unknown to the outside world until 1911, which helped preserve it. It is now declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

I’ve imagined being here for years and now that I am, it feels even more surreal. This landscape is unreal! What a place to choose as the center of an empire. The Incas sure knew where to find inspiration 😄

I’m also incredibly grateful that I could buy a last-minute ticket just the day before. This place often sells out months in advance, but I still got to be my spontaneous self and experience it fully.

And yep, I’m wearing an alpaca poncho and it’s not just for the strong fashion statement 💁🏼‍♀️😁 Alpaca wool is amazing, it keeps you cool and protected in the sun, and warm and cozy if it gets chilly. Highly recommended for a day in the Andes 🙌🏼

Walking around here alone, without a guide or group, made it feel even more special. Like my own little quest to find a lost wonder ☺️ Surprisingly enough, the best part was to actually walk down into the site and not just seeing it from above. That feeling deserves its own post… coming up next ⛰️

Aguas Calientes – the town at the foot of Machu Picchu ⛰️

I took the train from Ollantaytambo this morning since you can’t ride or drive here. It’s a small mountain town, completely surrounded by lush green peaks. It feels unreal to be this close to Machu Picchu – a place I’ve dreamed of visiting since childhood. So many photos, so much mystery.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m not a fan of rigid planning while on the road. I like to keep my schedule open for unexpected adventures. But Machu Picchu tickets usually sell out months in advance, and I was told it’s almost impossible to see it without planning ahead. But hey, I’m stubborn 😁🤭

After some research, I found out that 1,000 last-minute tickets are released daily in Aguas Calientes. The catch? You have to be there in person and get a number in line to even have a shot at one. And you won’t be the only one there.

Here’s exactly how I got one of those last-minute tickets:

1. I parked my bike and left my luggage at my accommodation in Ollantaytambo (Casa de Don David).

2. I booked my train ticket online (incarail.com) the day before and arrived in Aguas Calientes at 12:00 PM.

3. I ran straight to the Cultural Center (Ministerio de Cultura), showed my passport (important to bring!) and got number 139 with instructions to return at 3:00 PM.

4. I came back at 3:00 PM when they started calling out numbers in order. I lined up as number 139.

5. I waited about an hour before I could finally buy one of the last-minute tickets for the next day! 🙌🏼🏆

It took some patience, but it worked! 😃🙌🏼 2025-04-04 23:21:51 .. 2,027 -22% 36 -25%
Just left the beautiful Cusco behind and finally on my way to Ollantaytambo – one step closer to one of my top bucket list destinations, Machu Picchu! 😍 But first… a little patience. Sitting in the shade of my bike, sweaty and dusty, waiting for a construction crew to let me pass 😅

Most people plan their visit to Machu Picchu months in advance and that’s also when the tickets sell out, but if there’s one thing I’m not great at, it’s planning 🤭 As you know, I like being spontaneous and not having a fixed schedule. Instead, I’ll try my luck with a last-minute ticket and get one of the few that are released each day. No guarantees, just a chance. But for that, I need to get there in time, stand in line and hope for the best.

Let’s see how this goes! 🙌🏼

Once again, the best memories come from unplanned adventures! 🙌🏼

I was incredibly lucky this day. I was having breakfast at my hotel on one of Cusco’s cliffs when I heard people cheering, the beat of drums and the sound of pan flutes from Plaza Mayor. No way I was missing this!

I rushed down to find hundreds of brightly dressed dancers twirling and musicians playing in what seemed like an endless parade. I had no idea what was happening. I was right in the middle of an incredible celebration.

The party lasted all night, filled with live music, street food and the friendliest people. What I thought would be a simple day of sightseeing turned into drinking local beer and being the only blonde among a sea of Peruvians in front of a stage 💃🏼🎶🇵🇪

Yep, this is how I got up to Vinicunca Mountain in Peru! 😄

Behind a local rider through some of the roughest terrain I’ve ever experienced, and he made it look effortless. The weather certainly added to the adventure, it changed between cloudy, misty and snow every 10 minutes. But what stuck with me most was his bare hands gripping the handlebars on the way up (it was freezing cold), as if it was nothing. Glad he brought out gloves later on. Just another day in the Andes 😅
