- We lost a man that was everyone's uncle. A father and grandfather that became known for the soul of my soul. Over the last 14 months of darkness in Gaza, Khalid Nabhan was the light who lit up people's hearts. Despite losing two of his grandchildren in one airstrike he still had a smile on his face. He then focused on helping others on Gaza. He is the epitomy of the resilience of the Palestinian people. Today he was murdered by an Is** air strike, in a refugee camp. Just because you might not see it on your social feeds as much now, people are still dying. Do not stop talking about Palestine. I pray that uncle Khalid is in Junnah with Reem, the soul of his soul. He's gone but will never be forgotten. Art by. folkloren safiyas_designs
- London’s most iconic and famous “Indian” curry house has just opened a new express branch in Barkingside, Ilford. tayyabsexpress Tayyabs, the original Whitechapel spot has been a go-to for years, attracting diverse diners from post-work crowds to Muslim families and everyone in between. This new venture is a stripped-back, takeaway-focused version with just five tables and a sleek, modern interior. Orders are ready within 10 minutes, making it perfect for a quick bite. I popped in while passing through and sampled a few items: Lamb chops £10.95 Chicken tikka £5.95 Sheesh kebab £4 Tayyabs is known for their lamb chops. They’re decent and well-seasoned but not quite the game-changer some food critics make them out to be. The sheesh kebabs were excellent. Juicy, tender and packed with flavour. The restaurant is currently in soft launch, with plans to offer a discounted menu when they officially open. It’s still very much a family-run operation. The founder’s sons now manage the business and even the grandson helps out at this new spot. ✔ All halal ❌ No alcohol 🚫 Not BDS aligned 📍 143 High Street, Ilford, IG6 2AJ I paid for this meal. Anonymous visit. I say Indian, I know it's Pakistani.
- Gaza is starving It’s not a natural disaster, it’s deliberate. Children are dying from hunger. Aid is being blocked. People are being killed while waiting for food. If you have a voice, use it. If you have a platform, speak. Silence helps no one but the oppressor. 🟢 Share this. Talk about it. Food is a human right.
